Finally get some possibly sunny days for my solar panels to cut my electric bill and the duddley dorights mess that up.

Is this still the same fire or did another start? It’s been like a month of this it seems like.

Same ones from may but there's something like 300 different fires going on.

No, but they said it would go from "unhealthy for sensitive people" to "moderate", instead it went the opposite way to "unhelathy".
It was already in the red-colored unhealthy category last night at 10.
Also, remember that those are very generalized AQI forecasts for the whole next day. It's not even 9am yet.
And "they" is pretty broad.

Was worried about the air in “Chicago” where my sister lives yesterday.

Then late yesterday afternoon you could see the haze in southern Iowa. One of the neighbors decided with visible smoke in the air it was a good time to burn some fresh cut branches in her fire ring.

Just letting the dog out this morning, I needed my inhaler. We never get rain any more but was kind of hoping if people north of us did, it might help. Sounds like that is a no.

Dog will be mad but not walking him until it improves. I’m going to try an N94 next time I have to open the door to let him out. Still have airnow.gov bookmarked since son on the east coast was at 370 in the extremely hazardous category.

It seems like the weather is creating a dome/cap around central Iowa and trapping the smoke. I remember a few years ago that the weather conditions trapped some hog manure smell over the Des Moines area.
There was also that first year of fireworks being legal and turned the metro into a hellscape for about 3 days. If this stuff doesn't move out before next week, it's going to awful.

Yeah, i understand that. Just gets frustrating when I base outdoor activities off their forecast and they've been completely wrong twice in the last 4 days now, either about heavy rain or smoke.

Yeah, the forecast I saw said just as bad early today and gradually improving all day.
