Almost lost my old vintage 1996 Big 8 ISU basketball hat this weekend. Big gust blew it off my head and I chased down it just before to blew into the Minnesota River backwaters. It's my standard birding hat. Would have been pissed to lose it.

Clocked peak wind gust just over 60 mph today in central Iowa.

Have you been there before? We're planning a trip in 2024. Sounds like no matter what time of year you are visit, you should prepare for all weather.

Yeah it'll be iffy but it'll be freaking moody and gorgeous! Very jealous - almost six years to the day since we went and loved every second. Best vacation we've done to date.

I only had about 2" of rain for the whole Month of April. This is a good rain.

Nearly a foot in northern Iowa. It was a little further into May, IIRC.

Don’t ever mention 2013, the year from hell. Had to take prevent plant on 1/4 of my acres. And another chunk was planted in the first few days of June. All corn.

It was pea soup fog this morning. Actually missed the exit I usually stop for gas at on my way to work. None of the gas station signs could even be seen and I counted exits wrong.
