***Official 2023 Weather Thread***

ISU is going with virtual classes today.
And we employees to work remote. Except of course for those with essential jobs. People roll their eyes and complain about having to go in to clean bathrooms, but essential also means feeding students, caring for livestock and monitoring research projects.
I’m glad I brought my computer with me to a conference yesterday so I can work remotely today.
 
Don’t they know about snow tires? Those things fix all your winter driving issues.
Yeah, don’t usually need them. Mountain passes require snow tires or chains, so not sure why everyone doesn’t have chains.

The time it takes to install snow tires vs. when the snow usually dissolves likely isn't worth it and/or people don't have the resources/time.

Bit of a bust here in Albert Lea, both snowfall and wind. May not even bother to plow the drive. The named the storm - potentially an all-time doozy - Olive. I'd suggest Cam Lard.
Has it picked back up at all yet? Need to be up there tomorrow for work.
