Local (Twin Cities) news showed the eagle cam this morning:
Ice in February got us an early release back in...2008? I think? But I had no afternoon classes, boo.
And we employees to work remote. Except of course for those with essential jobs. People roll their eyes and complain about having to go in to clean bathrooms, but essential also means feeding students, caring for livestock and monitoring research projects.
I’m glad I brought my computer with me to a conference yesterday so I can work remotely today.
They are out in Chanhassen. Got an ISU friend that lives out that way and I always ask him why he lives in South Dakota.
I think he's saying "Why in the f*** do we live in Minnesota?"
Damn. Will have to check on the Great Horned Owls next door in the park. They are nesting WAY high a top a big white pine. Nothing above to shelter them, guess that's covered with deep snow.
The good part is it's late February and the sun is out longer/higher so melting has a chance to occur quickly.
Yeah, don’t usually need them. Mountain passes require snow tires or chains, so not sure why everyone doesn’t have chains.
The time it takes to install snow tires vs. when the snow usually dissolves likely isn't worth it and/or people don't have the resources/time.
Just came back from the farm. It’s icy, but just take it 40 mph and you will be good. Some solid stretches also that are speed limit type.
