It really doesn't feel like we are just barely above average for snowfall in CR but stats don't lie.
Iowa's snow game is weak.

I'm guessing we would be way over if you added in the 3/4 of an inch of rain we received this week or last. Helped to melt a lot of snow as the frozen ground held the moisture and the rain spread out on top and melted it from bottom up until it froze.
Lets just say that I can see Minnesota towns water towers and buildings from the farm. I am a higher elevation (can actually see water towers and elevators for a 10 mile radius each direction). So that information sucks to hear.Don't know how far north you are........but the GFS had been latched on to a huge snowstorm just north of the Iowa border from S. Dakota through Minnesota and Wisconsin for about a week now. Usually you see this type of forecast that far out with those totals and laugh.
But they have been very bullish and now even the NWS offices in Minneapolis, Sioux Falls and Aberdeen have picked up on it.
If this pans out like they say.........that's a butt load of snow. And this time of year ice jam and flood concerns on rivers.
Didn't know if that affected you or not.
What's the story on next week's storm?
Weather underground was showing up to 8" for the Cedar Valley on Wednesday and Thursday as of last week. Now it's showing an 84% chance of 2" of snow. So I'm guessing we're going to get a trace up here when it's all said and done.

You should be ok (depends on your driving skills). Local station last night said maybe an inch on Monday. No amount given for Tuesday and said they'll know more as it gets closer. We live far NW suburb area of cities (Otsego) and Weather Underground shows 4" on Tuesday for us.Push north, push north.
Wait, I am going to be in the twin cities Monday and Tuesday…….I’m F’d either way.
That sounds better. I looked at accuweather for the farm (right in Iowa/MN border and dead center) and it says 6-10 for Tuesday through Thursday. So if we get a bunch, it should be a slow snow. I’m always more concerned about others driving than mine. Probably will take a 4 x4 to be safe. You should be ok (depends on your driving skills). I graduated in 81. We used to say Ames used solar power to clear roads.Ames takes forever on side streets. Slower than any city I’ve lived in.
I graduated in 2012 and said the same thing. Also the Prairie Du Chien airport on at least one occasion.I graduated in 81. We used to say Ames used solar power to clear roads.
He’s still hitting on senoritas still for a week or two while pounding DosEquis.Good luck @BoxsterCy
