It really doesn't feel like we are just barely above average for snowfall in CR but stats don't lie.

I'm guessing we would be way over if you added in the 3/4 of an inch of rain we received this week or last. Helped to melt a lot of snow as the frozen ground held the moisture and the rain spread out on top and melted it from bottom up until it froze.

Don't know how far north you are........but the GFS had been latched on to a huge snowstorm just north of the Iowa border from S. Dakota through Minnesota and Wisconsin for about a week now. Usually you see this type of forecast that far out with those totals and laugh.

But they have been very bullish and now even the NWS offices in Minneapolis, Sioux Falls and Aberdeen have picked up on it.

If this pans out like they say.........that's a butt load of snow. And this time of year ice jam and flood concerns on rivers.

Didn't know if that affected you or not.

Lets just say that I can see Minnesota towns water towers and buildings from the farm. I am a higher elevation (can actually see water towers and elevators for a 10 mile radius each direction). So that information sucks to hear.

What's the story on next week's storm?

Weather underground was showing up to 8" for the Cedar Valley on Wednesday and Thursday as of last week. Now it's showing an 84% chance of 2" of snow. So I'm guessing we're going to get a trace up here when it's all said and done.

A couple inches of snow could be a lot easier to deal with than this:

What's the story on next week's storm?

Mpls friends are already texting "We are all going to die!" messages. My reply is to save freaking out till next week. Retired peeps that only need to go out to walk their dog. They do watch local TV news, which I do not, so they are susceptible to weather freaking.

Push north, push north.

Wait, I am going to be in the twin cities Monday and Tuesday…….I’m F’d either way.
You should be ok (depends on your driving skills). Local station last night said maybe an inch on Monday. No amount given for Tuesday and said they'll know more as it gets closer. We live far NW suburb area of cities (Otsego) and Weather Underground shows 4" on Tuesday for us.

That sounds better. I looked at accuweather for the farm (right in Iowa/MN border and dead center) and it says 6-10 for Tuesday through Thursday. So if we get a bunch, it should be a slow snow. I’m always more concerned about others driving than mine. Probably will take a 4 x4 to be safe.

I get a day and a half for basically 3 hours of training, going to be a long one. I’m out of my slow meeting shape. Been 20+ years since I’ve done those things.

Twin Cities are going to get nailed with this one. NWS is saying 90% confidence in >8" of snow in a 48 hour span.

I don't put much stock in my Wunderground forecast when it comes to snow amounts, but it's currently showing a combined 19" from Tuesday-Friday

The GFS on weatherstreet has been forecasting this Minnesota snowstorm for over a week.

I guess they are feeling their oats because now they are forecasting another big one in Southern Minnesota in little over a week to where when it's all said and done some parts will have between 30-36" fall within 7 days.

WI is supposed to get some real **** this week.

Thankfully it's March soon and there will still be bad weather but the sun will also only get higher.
