***Official 2023 Weather Thread***

On the 20th and 21st of February 30 years ago......a storm something like what's forecast hit Iowa. Snow amounts from 12-16 inches ran the state from Sioux City to Decorah. There was thundersnow and at some places it came down at 3-4 inches per hour. with the most recorded being close to 20 inches around Storm Lake.

When did this become an ice storm for the DSM metro? ****! I thought this was just a ‘thank god I live south of 20’ type of snow storm? ****!

They've been talking ice in the metro for awhile now. In fact, I think the forecasted ice amount has gone down.
 
Hey weather experts I need some help reading this stuff. I have meets in Chicago all day tomorrow. I fly at 815 pm. Should I plan on staying over?
 
When I got back from my honeymoon in Key West, I had to clean off the car at the airport, and then when I got home, scoop the driveway before I could pull in. Luckily that was only five or six inches worth though (plus everything the plow stacked up).
