Talking up to 0.5 in ice here. Plus 4in of snow. Heavy stuff to the north but ice and 40mph sounds unpleasant. Kids will be in school til July at this point.

This storm has the chance to be the second largest snow storm for the Twin Cities, only behind the Halloween Blizzard of '91. Current forecast is 17-23" (locally higher possible).

Here's an example of what that difference can be. At the extremes it can push 150 *F between the continental high/low on a single day.

I grew up 2 hours East of the Twin Cities and have a vague recollection of the Halloween with snow boots where we only went to a few neighbors’ houses.

Remember that one less. Mostly because I was living in a townhouse complex that had snow removal. Was snowed in but was not having to shovel.

Really, that looks like the #1 storm to me. Whether they categorize it as different events or not, that was a few days of absolute madness for Twin Cities snow removal folks.
