Ah hell, I was thinking head-to-head took precedence over goal differential. Too many youth soccer tournaments over the years, I guess. But yeah, Wales would have to go 'video-game mode' against England.

So if we win it looks like we'll get the Dutch. You'd hope that group would be more of a mess but of all the top teams I don't hate that matchup.

Huge game today! Come on Yanks! USA! USA! USA! The knockout rounds start now. I really hope they can show some urgency in the final third and put more balls into the box. Possession is great, but unless you're Spain (and Spain struggles to create chances sometimes), it doesn't always equal goals. Got to get shots. Can't score if you don't shoot.
That's what scares me about this game. We've been able to score 1 goal so far and Iran can move on in a tie. They're going to park the bus hard if this game gets into the second half tied.
Hopefully they give Gio and Aaronson more than 15 minutes if we need a goal.

We're going to see a lot more of that I'm afraid. We'll see if we get the full benefit of the extra time generosity that's been prevalent this World Cup.
