As others have said, if you hit up North Loop there's lots to do. Parlour Bar is great. Cuzzy's is a great dive bar. But the best place in our opinion, hands down, is Snack Bar (across the street from Parlour Bar). Incredible.

Here's a summary. It's good...really good even. But not our personal favorite even in the north loop. The best (was) the Freehouse $1000 burger which was a $1000 bet made by the Freehouse chef he could make a better burger than the Parlour Bar one...and he did. But they don't make it anymore.

I'd add that the 60/40 burger at Red Cow is terrific too. They have a few terrific burgers.
I've never been disappointed in Freehouse...their breakfast is incredible. So much so we often get breakfast for dinner there.
Also have you been to Snack Bar? Opened before COVID and then we just forgot about it (and we even lived in the North Loop for eight years). But we went a few weeks ago and I was expecting good not great. It's great. Their Ricotta Gnudi is disgustingly amazing...I could eat it every day.
Do it. Everything our large group had to eat was raved about. I also had their pizza and it's fantastic. Cocktails are great too
Hurt his calf 2 weeks ago. Those can take some time to heal. From what I've heard so far though is Dak is expected to play but maybe Vegas has some inside info.
