***Official 2021 Vikings***

Meh. I guess I'd like to see them interview Bienemy and Daboll, but neither one is a sure thing. You never know with coordinators. And I think I'd be upset if Leftwich was a serious candidate. He screams overrated. How many offensive coordinators did Brady make look good over the years in New England? How many of them became successful coaches without him?

There is a good article out of KC this week about how the Chiefs need to develop a plan where Bienemy is nurtured into taking over for Andy when he’s done (might be just a couple years?). As a Chiefs fan yes please. Not sure how realistic it is though.

One question I haven’t seen an answer to: Who are the “home run hires” here? Who’s the coach and/or GM that would be considered a huge success if we landed them?
I'd like to see a younger, offensive mind. Daring, I know. I think Daboll should at least get a call. Maybe Bienemy, but he's dodged jobs a while now. Leftwich I have no interest in, though. I wouldn't hate Pedersen right away, but it wouldn't excite me, either.

If it had to be a defensive guy, I'd like to see a players coach, which fits Morris. And definitely hope this coach doesn't interfere with the offense hardly at all and lets that side do its own thing.

If the 9ers pull off the win, this will likely be Rodgers last game in GB as a Packer. I'm hearing Rodgers would like to go to Pittsburgh. I'm still betting he ends up in Denver.

Pedersen's ending wasn't great in Philly but I heard on a radio show this week that several sources mentioned that there were a lot of things behind the scenes that were not his fault.

Maybe that's bias but I really don't want anything to do what someone from the Browns front office.. Which means that's likely who will get the job.

I think so, unfortunately, which doesn't surprise me.
Rick Spielman was hired from Miami where he traded a second-round pick for QB A.J. Feeley, traded for WR David Boston, gave up a sixth- and seventh-round pick for a seventh-round pick abd. Traded away star DE Adewale Ogunleye for WR Marty Booker.

All that wheeling and dealing lead the Dolphins to only have a first-, fourth-, fifth-, sixth-, and two seventh-round picks. The only pick out of those 2004 draft picks, that has done anything worth noting, was the first-round pick OT Vernon Carey.

And Spielman got fired after 1 season IIRC.

Philly is not an easy place to coach. I mean both him and the stache did well and then got ran out. I am ok with Pedersen.

In the last few years, aside from picking Mayfield that high and signing OBJ, they have drafted and signed really well. They have accumulated a pretty damn good roster.

#Vikings fan twitter seems to think Poles is the guy. Former offensive lineman (Will know the importance of fixing our line).

This is my favorite part of his resume:

2013-16 Kansas City Chiefs College Scouting Coordinator
2017 Kansas City Chiefs Director of College Scouting

2016's 1st round pick for KC was Chris Jones. MASSIVE home-run
2017's 1st round pick

I wouldn't mind either GM hire. Kwesi Adofo-Mensah is an econ grad who traded commodities. Basically all analytics. Scouting can be a BIG guessing game and I love the roster in CLE he helped build (Minus QB, but they HAD to take him)

Look at the Browns cap situation versus the Vikings. They really seem to get it with contracts. Almost every top salary is either team friendly or cheap versus league average and/or production

Minnesota has traditionally done very well with the salary cap, with Rob Brezinzski earning praise around the league for his creativity finagling the cap. Unfortunately the pandemic, and the lowered salary cap was not something that could be predicted and lots of teams, Minnesota included, were caught in a bad situation.

Brezinzski is still in his same position and I assume will still be the team's cap guru.

I'm more thinking about the atrocious contracts they signed. Rob B is the best in the business at making it "fit". But signing Cousin's to the extension, Barr contract, Dalvin contract, Smith contract, Michael Pierce, trading a 4th for a 4th string TE... Anyone with access to modern data would never even suggest those contracts
