***Official 2021 Vikings***

I would argue that Hunter was a much bigger project and much more raw and look what Patterson turned him into.

Jones has a great first step and already has an arsenal of moves so I'm excited to see what Patterson can do with him
And Hunter was what, 20? At least they just hedged their bets with another edge.

Still no S or WR. Interesting.

Seemed pretty obvious last night the Texans traded up to get WR Nico Collins ahead of the Vikes. They spent some significant draft capital to do it, too.

Another DE?!

Makes me wonder about Hunter's neck or his contract demands.
Meh, I wouldn't read too much into it. A late 4th round pick isn't necessarily an indicator of anything. They took two DEs last year as well. Andre Patterson has a lot of sway with the team and identifies "his guys". He's got a good track record with finding and developing later round d ends. You can never have too many.

Yes, and we saw what a problem it was last year without Hunter. The depth for the position was simply not there. Good to retool.

Spielman introduced him as a safety, so I believe that is a given.
Along those lines though, there is still really good safety depth remaining. I would think it would be feasible to take another one for both depth, planning ahead, and help with special teams.

The FSU guy at safety would be a good get I think.

Too lazy to look this up, but who was the last Cyclone to play for the Vikings? Matt Blair in the 70s?

Smith-Marsette. I'll swallow bile in my throat and admit it's a good value

Too skinny, not a polished receiver...but I can’t say he’s not fast enough. Like most of the other late-round WR’s they’ve drafted lately.

And Kene has competition at KR.

Odd pick. Kene and ISM are basically both KR specialists in the NFL..... so why draft two of them?
