Minnesota Timberwolves to meet with Brooklyn Nets restricted free agent guard D’Angelo Russell at the start of free-agency, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.
@KeithSmithNBA Told that D'Angelo Russell's team would not have set a meeting with the Minnesota Timberwolves without assurances Wolves could clear the necessary cap space to sign Russell. Minnesota has made it clear they believe they can get to the $27.25M max space necessary to sign Russell.
Horford is would be the perfect compliment for Zion. He's one of the few centers who can pass and hit 3's. It would allow for Zion to have space in the post to use his athleticism to score as he develops his shot. Not to mention Horford would be a good mentor for him and the former young Lakers to have.
A dark horse suiter is the Sacramento... they have a bunch of cap space, similar young players that need mentoring have a major need at Center and could in theory pay more than the Pels.
@TheSteinLine The Pelicans are indeed interested in Al Horford, according to one league source with knowledge of the situation, but have feared heading into free agency that they would be outbid for him
