MLB: ***Official 2018 Chicago Cubs Season Thread***

Cubs winning this 2nd game would at least salvage what has been a really crappy day for me. Started yesterday with our 15 month old coming home from daycare with a 102 fever and she's still running around 100-101 tonight. Went out to the family farm first thing this morning to help wean calves and spent half the day chasing a stupid through muddy creeks in the summer pasture that decided to go her own way while also discovering a dead calf too. Come home and check my phone just before the start of the CyHawk game to see the Cubs got beat bad in game 1 of the double header then watched the Cyclones lose. So yeah would be nice to get a W in this game to at least have something positive go my way today.

So did Jaime Garcia just look like garbage today? 1/3 inning, 23 pitches with 1 hit, 3 ER and 3 walks. May as well cut him now if he was that bad. It's a shame the I-Cubs season finale got cancelled because Drew Smyly was supposed to pitch in it. Curious the the Cubs will try a way to get him a few innings in bullpen relief to see what he can do or play it safe and wait until next year.

Gore sure is fun to watch on the base paths. Doubt he makes the postseason roster but down the stretch he is going to be a factor in a tight game.

Miss Steinbrenner? There is still a Steinbrenner in charge and they are the third best team in baseball and play in a different league than the Cubs and Brewers.

The Brewers were a lot more tolerable before they put the Wisconsin resident ticket plan in place. Their fans suck so much.
Wow, can tell you haven't been following baseball for very long. In case you forgot, Milwaukee was in the same division as the Yankees and I am talking about George. Obviously a touch before your time.

You couldn't be more wrong about how long I've followed baseball.

Huge series starting tonight. Hope the boys are pissed about how this weekend was handled and ready to smash some baseballs. I think we get 2 of 3 but a sweep would be huge.

What a crappy weekend for sports...Cubs got swept, even giving a couple away, ISU looked pathetic, and the Bears blew their lead to the Pack. Why do I even watch sports...?

So tired of watching the cubs hitters trying to pull and lift everything. It’s a selfish approach. No wonder sinker ballers and change up artists shut them down with ease.

I think Lester can be thankful for the wind tonight. Without it, I believe Milwaukee could be up 6-1 right now. He is being hit hard so far - but the Crew has little to show for it.

I keep seeing people complaining about how this weekend was handled but I'm not sure what else you could have done. It was a crappy weekend weather wise, and it being so late in the season, they had to do way they could to get games in.
