MLB: ***Official 2018 Chicago Cubs Season Thread***

While 58 Strike outs is bad, keep in mind that the Cubs have 229 plate appearances, more than any other team in baseball and more than twice some other teams. There are six teams with worse strike to plate appearances ratios.

Teams with one strike in less than every 4 PAs:
Mn 3.975
Cubs 3.948
TB 3.889
Cin 3.75
Bal 3.692
StL 3.558
Tx 3.470
Tor 3.392

Still not exactly they company we want to keep.

Amazingly the Royals have only struck out 11 times in 110 PAs. But then again they are still only batting .206 as a team.

Channel 111 for Mediacom?? Or is it 817?

I have PS Vue and use an antenna to get local channels so I couldn't tell you. If its not on Mediacom then one trick I've used in the past is connecting a coax cable to the tv and the other end in something metal - like the HDMI input on the back of the tv. You'd be amazed how many channels you can get - at least here in Ankeny.

With that personnel I think I might have put Happ in the 7 slot and lead off with Russell. It breaks up the righty batters (if they can eventually chase Suter) and gives Ian a different look so he doesn't feel pressured to do too much right out of the gate.

I like this lineup. Basically gives us Zobrist as the 2nd leadoff guy, or actual leadoff guy while Happ works stuff out.

Well the Brewers are going to test Lester every chance they get tonight it looks like. The Cubs may have been unofficially avoiding having Lester face the Brewers but he needs to face them at some point.

Honestly the steal of second was more on Baez who never moved.

It's on Lester, no one would take a lead like that against any other pitcher.

More on Baez, but Lester is the reason it started. Baez never moved. Lester could of at least attempted a throw had Baez picked it up.
