***Official 2017 Transfer Thread***

My four schollie wish list is definitely:
(Orderered in how much I want their commitment)
-Juiston
-Brown
-Shayok
-Morrow

Brings balance to the classes and high caliber talent to Ames.

If we can land 2 out of 3 from Juiston/Brown/Shayok, I'm thrilled and not all that concerned about how we fill the last 2 spots.

I'm not on Prohms staff but I think it's pretty clear Juiston and Brown are priorities A and B. Not a shock they did everything in their power to get Juiston in for his official ASAP and flew down to New Mexico to see Brown today. They wanna know where they stand with those guys and then the other dominos will fall.

Why would you assume Edwards is the 5th option? Edwards and Juiston have been our top targets for awhile now.
Just a gut-feeling. While Edwards has been a priority for a while, Brown and Shayok didn't become available until recently. Don't take it as a slight to him; I'd be very happy if we got a 6'4 guard that can hit the 3. Brown and Shayok have just proven they're good D1 players.

Alstork has an updated list.
His current list of suitors: Michigan, Maryland, Baylory, Tennessee, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, rArizona State, Auburn, Iowa State, Colorado State, Pittsburgh, North Carolina State, Texas Tech, South Florida, Florida, Missouri, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Cincinnati, Illinois and Washington State.
All have reached out. All are looking to draw Alstork to campus for a visit.

Alstork is considering all of them, but his No. 1 option is the NBA Draft. He entered his paper for eligibility in the draft and hopes to draw enough attention in team workouts to convince a team to select him.

So we only need to fight 20 other schools for a visit? He's ours!

Bragg from KU may be available. Probably not interested because we don't have a athletes dorm. Also Ames Police are too aggressive.

I think it's Juiston, Brown/Alstork (very unlikely(, Edwards, Shayok, Morrow right now. Obviously those top 3 are all takes unless we hear otherwise on Edwards after his visit. If all those others drop, I think Morrow would be the odd man out.

Edwards seems like all but a lock after his visit. Probably just visiting UNLV so he sees what else is out there.

So could this delay his decision? Is there a date he has to decide to stay or go pro?

That list is huge but there aren't a ton of big name programs out there. Pitt, Florida, Maryland and Cincy are pretty good programs but no one on that list has much on ISU as far as tradition, facilities etc.

Deadline to enter the Draft is April 23.
Deadline to withdraw from the Draft is May 24.

Thanks for the Dates,
Alstork stated in the article that he is planning to go through the NBA evaluation and get feedback and either stay in the draft if the reviews are very positive or one more year of college if that would increase his stock more. I doubt he'll get all his feed back and make a decision until May. I am thinking he may be the fall back after Brown/Edwards, plus other teams on his list will be eliminated as other transfers/commitments are added to the list of interested teams.

This years draft is one of the deepest in the past decade thus I would expect his best course would be take a grad transfer year but, I don't think Prohm can make him a priority until late in the process.

If we miss on Brown or Juiston I'd be fine keeping a spot open to see if we could snag someone coming back after testing their draft position
