***Official 2017 Transfer Thread***

Playing a 4 at ISU in Prohm’s 4 Out, 1 In spread offense would be a highly questionable fit for Morrow. He did not attempt a 3 pt shot last season. Juiston also is not a 3 pt shooter but he has much better playmaking and passing skills than Morrow who only had 8 assists for the entire season.[/P]

I don't think it is a given that Coach Prohm will continue with a 1 in/4 out offense. Based on talent he inherited from Coach Hoiberg that made a lot of sense during his first two years. IMO we will see a more traditional offense with more post ups, guys in paint to get offensive rebounds. There are a lot of college teams that shoot a high volume/good make % of 3's that don't run 1 in/4 out offenses.

Was Rice any good last year? I mean why would these teams want these players if they are not that good. Kids can have good numbers on a crappy team. Basically somebody has to score and somebody has to rebound. Does not make them good

Prohm's teams at Murray barely had any 3-pt shooting from the 4 and 5 positions. I think he can work with that.

6-8 forward. 4.4 ppg 3.8 rpg. 0 attempted 3s

Only posting because Nate Schmidt recently followed on twitter. Hope the staff is targetting better transfers than this.

He was their top freshman and went down with an injury. There must be something there if they are showing some interest.

He did shoot 85% from the both the field and the line. That's alright. Small sample sizes though.

Didn't there used to be a 8/5 rule, meaning you could only bring in 8 kids over a 2 year span and 5 in any given year? Since I think this was a rule and it is no longer in place, does anyone think this is leading to more transfers? Rice would be in trouble getting a whole team on the floor and definately practicing if this still existed. I wouldn't think there would be a D1 spot for all these transfers and incoming freshmen.

They could probably have three pretty good players and a bunch of awful players, resulting in a net-bad team. I'm sure the coaching staffs around the country are trying to figure out who the players are and aren't. A lot will make lateral moves or move down. Some may move up. Some are undoubtedly under the illusion that they'll move up but won't.

The Tim Floyd rule was a terrible rule.

I'd never heard about that rule before, but it would definitely make sense given the continual increase in transfers over the last 4-5 years.

Iowa brought in 9 players the last two years: Cook, Bohannon, Kriener, Dailey, Pemsl, Cook, Wagner, Williams and Jones.

Rice was 22-11 and 11-7 in Conf USA. They weren't a bad team.
