Just curious, but how old are you? Just seems like the viewpoint of one who has only known Moegan/mcD and Hoiberg.

Fred's success really is in the same tier as Floyd and Euatachy, though his future projection was certainly much higher.

Ive be been here for 45 years...and I disagree. If we are just looking at on court success LE tops the list. Floyd and Fred are close tie. As far as national exposure? fred number 1 by a mile.

40, I've lived through quite a few eras.

Also note that we couldn't keep Floyd either. That's my whole point. I want longer term success.

Murphy said he's "hearing" the Twolves are in play. An NBA beat writer for the Twolves says the rumors are untrue and Flip will be coaching them next year. You can believe what you want

He also "heard" the Twolves have reached out to Fred. You're delusional if you don't think they have. I believe they are in play and wouldn't expect Flip to say anything of substance about Fred.

Well, Pollard must be confused...

Quote from Pollard on 5/12/2015 (via DSM Register): "HE'S ALWAYS SAID from Day 1 that his lifelong goal has been to coach in the NBA"

Quote from Pollard on 4/11/2014 (via Ames Tribune): "...the NBA stuff is a whole separate animal and whether he wants to coach in the NBA, WHICH HE'S NEVER INDICATED TO ME, that’s a decision he’d have to make..."

No different than him blasting the transfers in college basketball, just before we become the ultimate destination for transfers which allow us to establish a powerhouse basketball program:

Unfortunately if a kid's world is not absolutely perfect (in their mind), they run from the problem rather than deal with it. Makes you wonder if it is the first signs of our society's change in our early education program (no longer give kids grades - everybody passes; can't keep score, everybody has to win; if you do not like something, have mom or dad complain on your behalf). Personally I wonder how that generation is going to survive in the real world when mom or dad or AAU coach are not there for them during their first job interview or first job evaluation. The bottom line is life is not a video game, you can't just hit reset if you do not like your initial score.

Jamie is the ultimate politician, which is what his job is. He tells us what we want to hear and what keeps $ flowing. Next thing you know, he'll be talking about how the B12 has the best football officials ever.

It's a good sign that Thibs is a first class a-hole. However, even if this plays out and the Bullz move doesn't work we're going to have a coach here that wouldn't be here if they had their own way on everything which is possibly more depressing than Fred just leaving.

Oh yeah. Anthony Davis is scared ******** watching his career ruined.

There is a reason Thibs was an assistant for 20 years with that resume.

My point was that for on court success the Hoiberg era actually wasn't an anomaly; it isn't far off from Floyd or LE, and arguably below LE.

As for exposure, with the exception of recruiting and getting games on TV that means little to me.

There will be FIRE! Round up the dumpsters and bolt down the stop signs!

And that's just the beginning, we'll bring in hordes of grasshoppers, frogs raining from the skies, pestilence, famine, earthquakes, and another ice-age. Fred could have avoided all of this.

Yeah, I know. I want Fred to stay as much as anyone, but many talk as if we've been to 3 straight Final Fours and are getting Top 10 recruiting classes every year.

The disappointing thing is the distinct feeling the best was yet to come. Fred is the best coach we've ever had, but on court success hasn't actually separated him from some previous coaches.
