Yeah, I know. I want Fred to stay as much as anyone, but many talk as if we've been to 3 straight Final Fours and are getting Top 10 recruiting classes every year.

The disappointing thing is the distinct feeling the best was yet to come. Fred is the best coach we've ever had, but on court success hasn't actually separated him from some previous coaches.

That is the main point.

Boy, for all those people claiming something was going to go down today it's actually been quieter today than the last two. Don't know if that should give me comfort or make me worry more.

Someone should go back and do research as to when the Bullz put out releases or hold pressers for their past coaching changes. Afternoon? Morning? It's all up to the Bullz and Thibs at this point.

The more silence to me makes it seem like the less likely he's going to go. Nothing would please me more than Fred walking out at Hilton and announcing he's here for the long haul.

Fred = Tim

At some point the coaching situation becomes a liability. I remember the Tim Floyd to the NBA era. It's the same thing, honestly it's getting old year after year. I say to Fred, Thanks for the memories may we help solidify your NBA Roster wherever yo may be. It's time to go.

The reason why I still think there's a chance FH stays is because of his ties to the university beforehand. He grew up in Ames, was a ballboy, went to ISU, etc. And while it's safe to assume he will leave at SOME point to the NBA, this is different than most coaches. Most coaches when they come in to coach have had 0 ties to the university previously. Fred's ties are strong and it's the saving grace for our sanity.

How about he walks out with JP at Clear Lake instead?

Fred announcing he's here for the long haul will most likely mean jack unless he gives up the low NBA buyout clause in his next contract negotiation.

Re: Fred = Tim

Definitely worthy of it's own thread. Do you wear a trucker hat that says, "Hey look at me!" also?

This isn't even a new thought, it's been mentioned a couple of times in the mega thread.

And this is the EXACT reason why this will be that much more painful folks.

With McD and Fred, ten year contracts do not mean much. Yet Paul believes in them through thick and mostly thin times.
