Official 2014 Recruiting thread

Syracuse plays in a dome that has more people in attendance for a basketball game than some of their football games.

I doubt Syracuse's facilities are even on par with the old football facilities, let alone the Bergstrom.

Honestly, all I know about Syracuse football is they play in a dilapidated dome in front of about 14 screaming fans.

Sign me up.

Jauan Wesley just tweeted that he'll be visiting Ames July 19. He seems to be a pretty solid receiver. Also before that he tweeted at Nile Sykes that he DM'd him. It would be awesome to see them visit together. Seonbucher is also visiting that weekend.

He likes Indiana because they have good basketball? Hoiberg please call this kid and tell him what you will be doing during his 4-5 years here.

Wesley tweeted Lazard a couple days ago that he might be joining soon.

Itd be cool to beat MSU in another recruiting battle

Story about Micquell Cotton from earlier today via a Syracuse website. I have a good feeling about him coming to Ames.

Syracuse football recruiting: Orange sitting 3rd in Illinois defensive back Micquell Cotton's top 3 | syracuse.com

Oh, and read the comments. Apparently, Iowa State University is in Iowa City. lol Damn they dum.

Here are the gems of the comments:

"Between Indiana, Iowa City, & Syracuse, it should be an easy decision to pick Syracuse."--Brilliant

"Saying Iowa City "shuts down" for a football game is like saying the North Pole "freezes" in the winter......it's always "shut-down."" --Wonder if this guy has ever left his NY appartment

"How about picking Syracuse because it's not in the middle of nowhere like ISU and IU?? SU's football program is on the rise and will be more competitive in the ACC than ISU and IU have ever been in their respective conferences. Also consider academics - SU by far is better."--1. Wow the ACC?!? You don't say! 2.Find it hard to believe that; at BEST, marginally

"Being a last visit will work to our advantage. Always save your best argument for last because that is what will resonate most with your audience. Same thing here. Once he gets here, sees the intensity of Shafer, the savvy of McDonald, and the sense of family every recruit raves about, he'll have a great impression. Sounds like he's already high on the program and he just needs it to pass the eye and gut test. And I have to believe that our facilities are on par with Indiana and Iowa State." --I see that we did plenty of homework before we stated our cold, hard facts on this cutthroat message board, bravo to all of you

Jeffrey Jones has a new interview on the Scout.com site. I am not a member; so, I do not know what he specifically says. However, in the teaser, it states that he is saying that the official visits will determine where he goes.

I thinking that that means we are still in the game with Jeffrey............

I'm thinking the more Rhoads gets him on campus, the more impressed he'll be. He would be a very nice addition to the class and may end up playing a more pivotal role in the offense than Lazard (based on positional importance: RB>WR). Which is absolutely saying something, because Lazard will be huge!

We need Lazard to play that Terrence Williams roll of being the go to guy when you need a play. Can't wait to see him, Bundrage, Daley, West etc out there. Will be a wr core like we never had.

I think that it would be HUGE to have some of our already committed recruits take their official visits the same week as Jones. If he met some of the guys he would be playing with who were with the coaching staff, I feel like it could play a key role in getting him to Ames!

Lets just say he has two officials set up and one of them is with the good guys.

Whoa! This thread almost got off the front page, gotta fix that. Just saw a little recruiting story that this highly publicized three star Texas receiver T.V. Williams was choosing between TTU, Iowa, Nebraska and UK. He chose the lesser of the four evils and went with UK. There is apparently going to be a big ol' meltdown on the Nebraska forum because a decent amount of people had him pegged to go there haha. Link- T.V. Williams - Yahoo! Sports

Edit: Was not a disappointment, enjoyable amounts of butthurt on the Husker board:smile:

They should be ******, there is a little history developing between Kentucky and NU on the recruiting trail. Vince Marrow, formerly Nebraska's TE coach and currently Kentucky's TE coach, has grabbed at least a couple recruits out from under Bo's extremely large nose.
