Official 2014 Recruiting thread

New guy to the forum.

What are the chances we offer this guy?

Kentrail Moran

and his hudl

It's early, he's a 2016 recruit. Seeing his twitter he seems to have a little interest already so that's good.

Is that you Kentrail? :twitcy: Seems like a great sized as a young player, real fast kid though his video speed didn't look nearly 4.4 speed. Never know, what were his stats last season?

Seems pretty good for being a sophomore

Agreed. As cyclonic put it, not up to us. Seeing as we are recruiting Illinois harder, go ahead and email the staff, I am sure they will take look and form their own judgments. If he is starting as a freshman in Chicago, I am sure he is big time.

O'Fallon IL is in the St. Louis area.

Seeing as we are recruiting Illinois harder

Finally...I remember sending an email to JP about 5-6 years ago regarding recruiting Illinois in general for all sports. With 8 million in the Chicago-land suburbs, there is a wealth of talent. I have/had 2 kids in HS sports and see athletes all the time that would look good wearing Cardinal and Gold. JP basically told me it wasn't worth the trouble with too much competition from Illinois schools, Big10 and other MAC schools. At the time I understood, but I think that showed a lack of confidence. Times have changed, and I think ISU has gained enough respect in the Midwest that they should feel very confident in crossing the border and plucking some quality athletes from Illinois. Illinois is not like Iowa...Kids don't grow up as Illini fans and dream of playing there. Illinois as a state is awful at retaining their own talent. With the TV rights now, most every game is televised in Illinois- Except Longhorn Network :(

There are some idiots in the comments.

It's so easy to Google fact-check before posting. I do it all the time. Also, there's no way their facilities are on par with ours. Probably not even close.

I have gone out of my way to avoid Iowa City my whole life. Now you're telling me I'm living in it? My life is a lie!

I doubt Syracuse's facilities are even on par with the old football facilities, let alone the Bergstrom.

Honestly, all I know about Syracuse football is they play in a dilapidated dome in front of about 14 screaming fans.
