***Official 2013 Bracketology Thread***

I'm sorry, but I don't think there's any way we need to still do any work.

We are 21-10 (11-7 conference) in the Big 12 where there's 3 teams alone in the top 15. We have wins over two of those teams and essentially it should be a third since the Big 12 office basically admitted the officials screwed up the Kansas game's final seconds. We also have the win at Baylor (and at home), and also beat BYU who may or may not get in, but is still 21-11 (10-6 overall) in a conference with the #1 overall team in it. We also have the 4th highest scoring offense in the country which is good for ratings.

Obviously a win will be good, but I think we're a lock at this point honestly.

I think UNLV is unlikely because the committee intentionally avoids regular season rematches if possible.

Iowa State-UCLA in an 11-6 matchup would be a great game to watch. In a region with a vulnerable 3 seed, even better.

It's getting rather annoying to keep being told one more gets us in. First it was in with a win over OSU, then it was in with a win at WVU, now it's in with a win over ou.

Well, one more win DOES get us in.

If OU-ISU is a bubble-elimination game, the field shrank from 68 to about 60, and nobody told me.

He didn't say it was an elimination game. He said it was a lose and be nervous game. Speaking for myself, he's correct.

BYU is not even close to getting in.

I don't see Baylor getting in over ISU or OU (unless they win the tourney). I don't think the Big12 gets only 4 teams in or do they get 6 (unless Baylor wins the tourney).

Since ISU and OU swept Baylor......there is no way Baylor should leap frog either.
With Pierre, Baylor could win the tournament. They have potential.

with what seed we are going to be, it is going to be a tough matchup regardless, they are 5,6, and 7 seeds for a reason...

i has no faith in jerry palm's competence. I think we are safely in and we knock possibly knock oklahoma out this week.

MTSU will be 2006 missouri state.

A couple of scenarios where ISU is in trouble:

1) ISU loses to OU and one of BU/TCU/TTU/UT/WVU pulls a Liberty and wins the tourney. Very few brackets have 6 Big 12 teams in. Committee will have to struggle with taking 6/10 teams from a "weak" conference.

2) ISU loses to OU and BU wins 2 to make it to the tourney final. Again, very few brackets taking 6 Big 12 teams, and would BU getting to the conference final with ISU losing out in the first game push BU ahead of ISU for the fifth spot?

Just beat OU...

Missouri St actually played in a solid conference that year, the Valley got several teams into the tournament that year. MTSU plays in a bad Sun Belt conference, they should not be anywhere near the bubble.

The number of teams from a conference does not matter. Repeat after me, "The number of teams from a conference does not matter." Wow, doesn't that feel good?

I would bet it does. no way the committee gives the big 12 6 bids. One of these team is not dancing unless they win the conf tourney.. BU, ,ISU or OU

I don't share the belief that Iowa State is a lock yet. I feel great about our chances but I still don't believe we're a lock. I find it funny that so many people on here pretend to be smarter than people who are paid to predict what is going to happen. If they are so bad like so many on here claim, they would be gone. By reading this thread you would think half our posters are on the Selection Committee. Do I think we will get in, of course. However, with MULTIPLE people saying we are on the bubble, I say believe them. I think our team plays better when they think their backs are up against the wall anyways. Focus our sights on Oklahoma and get the win, period. Hell, why not set our sights on the Big 12 Championship. There is no one is this league we can't beat. Enough of this loser talk only focusing on "what if" we lose to Oklahoma.
