***Official 2013 Bracketology Thread***

Kentucky needs to be behind Iowa State on the bubble as the Big 12 is better then the SEC, period!!!

Kentucky lost at home to Baylor as Iowa State beat Baylor twice this year!!!

Jerry Palm still has ISU in play-in game vs Tennessee and winner plays Butler in Kansas City in the 12/5 game....

I would love ISU to play in Kansas City but I still do not see how that is possible with the pod system!!!

Jerry Palm is an idiot. Kansas and Kansas State are getting Kansas City. We are not.

Palm has us in the play in game, but I don't necessarily trust him.

Because you're dumb. We are in matter what.

Thanks for that statement of brilliance.

Just saying, when I see ISU listed as playing in the play in game in all these projections...then see teams like Middle Tennessee lose, I'd rather not find out what happens if ISU goes 1 and done in KC.

Most recent update from Lunardi: (10:10pm EST)

MTSU is now in the first four out. KU also drops to #2 seed.

So we needed that extra update after all. Middle Tennessee, which finished 19-1 in the Sun Belt, just lost its Sun Belt quarterfinal game to Richard Pitino's Florida International team. A real stunner. How does that affect the Blue Raiders? See below.

And speaking of the Pitino family, upon further inspection, we now have Rick's Louisville Cardinals as the final 1-seed ... for now.

1-SEEDS
Duke/EAST
Indiana/MIDWEST
Gonzaga/WEST

HOW DID WE FALL TWO SPOTS SINCE YESTERDAY???

How is MTSU anywhere near the bubble? They have absolutely no quality wins. They've beat Mississippi at home and UCF the, number 100 ranked RPI team. If this was a major conference team with this resume they wouldn't even be considered.

Poor MTSU. They ****** it down their leg in their conference tournament last year, too. Their at-large resume was probably similar last year, and they went NIT and did pretty well.

Ole Miss fans have to be angry they went and played MTSU on the road this year. That's gotta be the thing keeping Ole Miss right under MTSU.

A rather ****** day as Temple and Virginia won and Middle Tennessee lost. Temple is in, Virginia and Middle Tenn are out IMO. MTSU does not deserve a bid.

They are really no games affecting the bubble on Monday, but they're 5 auto-bids up for grabs.

CAA Championship
James Madison vs Northeastern - No chance of at-large, so whatever.

MAAC Championship
Manhattan vs Iona - No chance of at-large, so whatever.

Southern Championship
Davidson vs Charleston - No chance of at-large, so whatever.

Sun Belt Championship
Florida International vs Arkansas State/Western Kentucky - Middle Tenn ****ed this up, but no chance of at-large, so whatever.

WCC Championship
Gonzaga vs St. Mary's - Both teams in, so whatever.

The only way for MTSU to get in is if all the major conference teams lose in the first round of their respective tournaments. They are hoping that Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky, La Salle, Boise State, Ole Miss, Baylor, and USM all lose. Hey, we have seen it happen. But yeah, MTSU really ****ed themselves.

If MTSU gets invited to the NCAA tourney, it would mark the first time ever a team with less than 3 RPI top 100 wins gets an at large bid.
I think it's safe to say they are NIT bound.

As they should but I still don't get how they are even in the discussion. If a major conference team had their resume with no quality wins there is no way they would be included on the bubble.

Pretty much all of the "experts" on twitter are saying MTSU should be in. Their only defense is that they won 28 games but they aren't looking at the quality of those 28 wins. It's a pretty clear no to me.

Exactly, they would be safely in. Only mid-majors get left out with an RPI of 27.

Yeah, stockpiling wins against crap competition isn't worthy of an at large bid.
