This bracket though has some interesting matchups in the first round and second round

First Round: Gonzaga vs. LB State. Dan Monson facing his old team
Ohio State vs. Akron: Battle of Ohio and Lebron's two potential college choices
Ole Miss vs. Cincinnati - Andy Kennedy facing his old team

Second Round Potential: Indiana vs. Kentucky
Duke vs. UCLA

I am not sold on Colorado being in the tournament. Their win against Oregon was big, but Oregon did not have their starting PG, and Oregon has gone 1-3 since he went down.

Colorado is safe for now – would almost have to play its way out. CU's win over Colorado State is actually buoying it as much as Oregon win, RPI-wise (15 compared to 42) although win over UO came on the road (a plus). RPI & SOS are helping; two of the three top-50 losses are to KU and Arizona (both top 10 RPI). Bad loss vs. Utah doesn't help.

Palm's bracket Feb. 11

He's way off all over the place.

A symptom: He has Big 10 teams at the top two 1-seed slots, MSU as a 2 (all of which are reasonable) but then has Illinois up to a 7 but Ohio State is only a sixth seed. It makes no sense in the continuum of those teams' results. If he had OSU as a 3, it'd all be too strong, but would at least be logical.

Oh, also: ISU's resume isn't the most inviting dessert on the plate, but this team isn't close to a play-in resume.

Just a few things.

Win the next two and we probably jump to an 8 seed? Even though I wish we'd stay at a 10 seed or lower than the 8 or 9 seed.

Ohio St and Illinois are 24th and 25th in RPI, so it's really not that strange. Illinois' poor conference record is offset by some huge wins, Ohio St is lacking in that category.

OSU going 1-6 vs the top 25 doesn't help them. They beat Michigan and nobody else.

I think if we end up at 8/9 we are one of those teams that no #1 seed would want to have to face in the 2nd round. We have the shooters to beat anyone in the country on the right night. Not saying we will knock off a 1-seed, just saying I'd hate to play our team if I were a 1-seed.

You do know that Zags received two first place votes in the latest ranking?

Which is a joke, Gonazaga shouldn't be rewarded just for playing in a crappy conference. Look at Gonazaga's resume, there is no way they should be getting votes for number one. What's their best win a one point win over OK St? Dominating mid level B12 teams isn't reason enough to be voted number one.

They beat osu, baylor, and kst. beat byu by 20. lost to illinois. they played some good teams

BYU is not a good team. Gonzaga beat a couple decent teams, Illinois handled them fairly easily on the road, Butler knocked them off without their best player, the WCC is down this year. I'll be very surprised if they make it past the sweet 16 this year.

I guess I should have clarified better. I know byu isn't good, but playing byu, ok st, kst, baylor, and butler isn't a bad non conf schedule. The Zags have trouble with their back court D sometimes. A few guys have lit them up this year.

No chance. The next 2 will basically keep us where we are at or maybe a 1 seed jump at best. Beating UT and TCU doesn't move the meter.

West Virginia by 34
Oklahoma by 25
K-State by 16
Baylor by 7
Okie State by 1 at GIA

Winning at Texas might move the needle a little depending upon how Texas is after Kabongo comes back.
