*** Official #12 IOWA STATE vs #18 Baylor Game(Day) Thread ***

Have to hope we come different offensively and Baylor craps themselves. Just seems like it’s not our night.

Which makes sense because tech and Houston lost along with about every team in the top ten

They're good at defending half court, they're just not getting the rebound, and naturally are out of positionand scrambling on the second chance possession.

The rebounding has been the biggest killer.

With all those 3s that Baylor was hitting, our poor rebounding, and us not being able to hit LOTS of good looks, down 12 doesn't seem impossible. But our guys need to get some confidence back on offense. We need to hit at least a few 3s to soften up the zone. We need to be attacking the middle of the floor more. If the guy who gets the pass in the middle gets pressed by two guys the other big need to immediately duck to the rim. That short drop off pass has been there ALL DAY LONG. We just have been nervous or something and have blown every bunny we have taken. It feels like we are afraid of Baylor's length on def. Got to put that out of your mind and rely on making the right play over and over again. We start getting dunks inside, baylor will get out of the zone. Them getting out of the zone is a benefit to us.

On defense we really get exploited by good 3 point shooting teams who are patient and get get us into our 2nd, 3rd and 4th rotation. That patient ball movement just goes faster than our def can rotate. I don't know what we do about that though, because the reason we have been good is our trapping def. I guess we just have to live with it when people exploit that weakness.

This x1000. And among other places, they put them right behind the visitor bench. Nothing could go wrong with that decision, right?

Pretty simple. We need to play better. Baylor is the better team right now.

Those 4 easy MISSED lay-ups early in the game, coupled with uncontested 3pt misses by CuJo also loom large. We need Tre to be good Tre, CuJo to hit open shots, Lipsey to give us some offense & our D needs to limit BU's wide open looks from 3. Easier said than done, I know. Gonna be a real uphill climb!!

They've thrown ISU's rhythm off on a lot of shots and made them look uncomfortable across the board.

Fair, definitely expecting to see a couple more zones this year after that half.
