***Offical NBA Regular Season Thread***

Now that Kobe is back I don't know whether my lakers will be better or worse. Our chemistry is way better now that Dwight is gone. Thank The Lord.

I would have tried to tank if I were the Lakers. But, if the Knicks continue as a dumpster fire, I can see Melo heading to Lala land.

Melo and an aging, declining Kobe tying up 75% of your salary cap, would there be a more miserable team in the league to play on?

Wiggins, with the national connection, would by far be the least likely to bolt after his rookie contract though.

Possibly, but I can't think of any franchise player types that have left the team that drafted them as soon as the rookie deal was up, although I could easily be forgetting some one. The ones that have left, LeBron, Melo, Howard all walked away or forced their way out during their second contract. If you have a team that can contend for a title (and pay you more than the other teams can), the vast majority of players will stick around no matter where the team is located.

Yea you're right, I didn't think that through. Most of the rookie contracts now make the player a restricted-FA after the rookie deal, don't they? It's still the same concept though. I think he'd be the least likely to leave once he hits free agency in his prime.

68-64 Indiana over Miami after 3 quarters

Bulls playing lowly Milwaukee, but I bring this up because of the Bulls regular season starting 5 only Boozer started tonight. No, Rose, Butler, Deng, Noah. Unreal.

I think the lakers are gonna have another year where they only get to the first round of the playoffs. As much as I love Kobe, they wont be able to rely on him. He is too old. The free agency next year should be VERY interesting. I cant wait. Especially with all the cap space we will have.

Also, the Pacers are legit. Paul George is a true MVP candidate. Their team is complete. Hibbert and David West are efficient. and Lance Stephenson is a ticking time bomb; he is so trigger happy, which can be a wonderful thing but also a fatal thing as well. I like the pacers, I like how they were built through draft picks (with exceptions).

Bulls offense looks like the mess is calling the plays tonight. Stuck on 26 with two minutes left in first half.

Doesn't help when their best starters on offense consist of Dunleavy and Boozer. Deng and Butler are both out tonight.

NBA trade rumor mill starting to pick up:

Kyle Lowry on the trade block
Zach Randolph on the block
Omer Asik
Kenneth Faried
Andre Miller

BIggest news today has been on Lowry possibly heading to the Knicks or Nets.

What the hell would the Knicks or Brooklyn have that would be remotely attractive to Toronto? Shumpert I guess, but that's it unless there is another team involved.

It looks like they are asking for Shumpert, Felton, and a future first rounder (2016 or 2018)

Picks, that makes sense. I had assumed that the Knicks had traded all their picks until 2020 for Kenyon Martin or something.

Also, you'd think they'd be more wary of dealing with Toronto after the Bargnani trade.

That is exactly why this trade has not gone through. Dolan knows he got screwed on that trade. However, all the Knicks executives are trying to convince him to get rid of Felton, and this is the best to do that. Massai Ujiri will get this trade done and be the winner some way. The guy has the golden touch right now as a GM.
