FWIW, I'm a casual N'Western fan. Went to plenty of games when I lived in Chicago, and I have only seen Iowa State (69), Alabama (47) and Cincinnati (40) play more times in person than Northwestern (32). I've seen them on the road @ Ohio State, @ Michigan, @ Illinois, @ Indiana and @ Wisconsin too.

True story: I was at the Northwestern @ Wisconsin game in 1998 in the NU visiting section. The Badgers were kicking butt (W38-7), and this NU lady behind me turned to her perfectly coiffed friend and said: "Did I tell you I bought a new pair of Ferragamos?" Made me laugh out loud. Go U! NU!

Regardless, the best coach and player in program history has been fired, I don't envy the next guy
