It's not the story of the bomb, it's the story of the man. If you're looking for deep science minutiae, this isn't the movie for you.Did Oppenheimer go to ames to get the enriched uranium that we made for his bomb? If there wasn't a scene in ames this movie is inaccurate and bad
I don't get the hype for this movie. To me, it's such an often told story that it's migrated from slightly interesting to, "Oh, no, not another movie on that topic." And this is coming from a WWII buff.
I thought it was good, son thought it was great. I will say it didnt feel like 3 hours. Now I'm confused... so is this movie good or not?
3 hrs is WAY too long IMO. I'm not looking forward to sitting in a theater that long... but I really want to see this.
wear your depends! The movie is more about the conflicts between Oppenheimer and his conscience and others who are jealous of him.Now I'm confused... so is this movie good or not?

He was actually with many women, including the wives of his friends. It’s part of what made the hearings in the 50s so tantalizing. If you know the real story of Oppenheimer the idea of him having any chemistry with women is comical.
This is where I'm at too. Was super stoked but the SF Gate article didn't post on the last page didn't help. Now I'm confused... so is this movie good or not?
I liked the movie. I thought it was really well done. If you aren’t a fan of Christopher Nolan or think it’s going to be about the Atomic Bomb/WWII, you won’t think it’s great. This is where I'm at too. Was super stoked but the SF Gate article didn't post on the last page didn't help.
Plan on seeing it sometime Thursday or Friday this week.
Or doing the Barbenheimer on Friday or the weekend.

Speaking of long movies, I went to see the new Indiana Jones movie. I enjoyed the movie, but it seemed interminably long to me. It probably didn't help that I took four grandchildren, ages from 15 down to 6 with me -- two teenagers and two first and second graders, two boys and two girls. The movie was 2 hours and 34 minutes long. It should have been cut by at least 45 minutes IMO.Now I'm confused... so is this movie good or not?

It reminds me of “Imitation Game” but with Nolan directingGood to hear. Big Nolan fan and not really a history guy at all so that won't disappoint me.

It's a great movie and it's not too long. Never drags and isn't filled with senseless time filler.
I think those who think it's "too long" don't like any movie over two hours. That would be a "you/them" problem and not an Oppenheimer problem. This isn't the Zodiac (which was a senselessly long movie).
