Nigel Johnson leaving Kansas State

I get that it's humorous and all when it's happening to a program that isn't Iowa State, but to be honest I feel kind of bad watching this happen. I view them as a rival, but not one that I have hatred for, if that makes any sense. I don't know if it's because our schools our so similar (enrollment, agriculture, hate for KU, etc.), but outside of playing ISU, I've always cheered for them to do well. It probably helps that we don't really seem recruit against them ever (in hoops, anyway).

This is the type of tailspin that takes years for a program to get itself out of.

Interesting. I see it entirely differently. They're a conference rival. I want to beat them. if them sucking gives us a better chance to beat them, then let them suck.

I understand the desire for the conference to do well, but there are plenty of good schools in the conference, so when it comes to KSU, I have zero ****s to give.

There are 90 loses every year in the BIG XII. Some team is going to have to collect those each year. Not everyone can be good at the same time. I'm just fine with letting the folks at EMAW or whatever take more than their share.

Idk man. Not to bring football into this but they barely beat us last year with Jake Waters who was their team.
They are likely starting a kid from Iowa or a kid that has never started a game at QB at any level.

And that's fine if that's how you view it. From my perspective, I'd rather have a strong conference overall and I think K-State being at least decent is an important part of that. When you only have 10 teams in your league, it really hurts if 3 of them are more or less worthless, which will probably be the case the next couple years with Tech, TCU and K-State. Throw in the fact that (IMO) OSU is not a tourney team next year, and Texas will be on rocky ground with everything they are losing, we will have a much weaker conference, and thus maybe not as strong of a resume.

Btw what's happening in the 'vacant stare Bruce weber' gif? I assume its tournament due to the trutv logo.

Pretty sure it was at the end of their 2013 NCAA first round exit as a #4 seed against La Salle in KC.

Yes. It had something to do with him trying to call a timeout with just a few seconds left, but the officials didn't recognize, so kst got up a terrible shot on that final possession, and lost.

IIRC

I actually think TCU will be pretty good next year. They did not have a great record this year, but they played most teams down to the wire. They were young, but talented and I think Trent is a decent coach. I believe a team that will outperform expectations next year.

I'm starting to think that KU and ISU lost to them on purpose so that it would be an easier sell to keep Webber.

After losing Amric Fields, Kyan Anderson and Trey Zeigler? I do think Trent Johnson is a good coach, but I expect TCU to take a step or two back this coming season. They don't have any guards.
