I think it's a faulty premise that this late in the game the entire country doesn't have a spot for him at this point. This late in the game, there are not many options for teams and many many more missed on their top options than the teams who are too talented to consider a top 12 PG in the country.
Personally, I think two things:
1. Nick Noskowiak is a top 10 talented HS prospect left uncommitted in the country, to my amateur eyes and the eyes of the recruiting services.
2. There is no public record of any major attention for him for 2 months from anybody, let alone the type of programs you would expect.
Looking at number 2, I just wanted to look for a reason for that to be the case, and the most likely scenario to me (not the only possible scenario, or even over 50% likely) was that there is a gap between college coaches evaluation of him and the recruiting services. This was not a popular opinion, and I got roughly one million replies about how stupid I was, to which I replied. I got a lot of crackpot answers and people got mad that I didn't immediately accept them, but almost every answer has some flaw to it.
Other explanations I got were the NCAA tournament was in the way, he is risky because he didn't play basketball for a bit, nobody has room for him.
I'm going to go ahead and say nobody has room for him is absolute ********. I'm not expecting there to be 60 teams after him, but a handful would be, you'd think, considering the rarity of recruits with his talent level.
Another option I was given is maybe he was being super secret about his recruiting for some reason those two months and he was getting tons of offers and he was just waiting for TJ to come back to ISU and offer him because ISU is his dream school, and nobody recruited him after that because it was so obvious he wanted to go to ISU.
My best guess is the NCAA tourney slowed it down a bit and maybe he was being very patient for something to open up. The radio silence on his recruitment for that long is very weird though, there's no getting around that. It isn't normal for a kid ranked that high to have zero information for that long that late in the game. Looking at that VCU decommit gives context of what I would've expected to happen.
But anyway, I'm sure he'll commit shortly and maybe we'll get more details then.
How many times are you going to make the same argument? We get it. You think he's overrated relative to interest from other schools.
Time will tell.
