Coach Cal was watching Noel as Noel had 7 points and Georges put up 26. Ho hum.

Man would I love Noel. I know 7 points isn't impressive but he is still not even a junior in HS. 7 feet tall and compared to Alonzo Mourning as far as shot blocking? Yes please

I'm so excited for Niang. It will be interesting to see just how high he rises in the Rivals Top 150... not that it truly matters, but it looks good for ISU to be getting top 150 talent with high major offers.

niang took a charge to give babc final possession and they won on a half court 3 from brantley. all per twitter.

I watched the game on espnu, Noel is a freak on the defensive end. You put him around 4 shooters and you have a winner!!!!

Man...I'm just excited for Niang. That's who is looking good.

I think its a great sign for our coaching staff that they were able to find him and lock him down before he took off. I know he says he is 100% Iowa State, but I CAN NOT wait until he signs.

Agreed. I'll breath another sigh of relief when he gets to campus.

Breath easy right now. You should follow him on twitter. He is constantly talking about ISU. I've never seen any ISU commit as excited as him.

Niang sounds like he is REALLY liking ISU at this point. Freddie isn't the type that will fade in the recruiting process. I'm not too afraid of losing guys once they commit. I would assume Fred will make a great late-in-the-game recruiter also. He will be a coach that could walk into a kid's house, win over the parents and kid in the first 5 minutes, and have the kid signed to play before the coffee is ready.
If Niang is this high on ISU, I can't imagine him backing off. Fred has us going in the right direction and I think that people see that.

I do follow him on twitter, and I have to say I'm less worried about him than an average recruit. But there is still a part of me that worries until any recruit is here.

I believe Calipari, Williams, and Calhoun were there watching the game (likely Noel, Seldon, etc) between BABC and SYF (?). Those are some persuasive coaches...

Hmmmmm.

Well, for what it is worth, Mad, I certainly got the distinct impression that Georges' mother REALLY liked Fred and Carol.

Whomever comes snooping after Georges will have to win his mother as well, and I just don't think that will happen.
She was, "Looking for a home for my son and I guess he (Fred) heard me."

Just my opinion of course, and I suppose anything can happen.

Go Cyclones:yes:

Noel and Niang would amount to a guaranteed Big 12 title. Would be incredible if Georges could help convince his buddies to come to the good guys.

NIANG IS A CYCLONE! Stop worrying about it! You can tell that from day one he's been 100% Cyclone. He tweets about Iowa State all of the time and is very excited to come here.

No one would want to step foot in the paint against us if we had Noel down there! That would allow for tighter play on the perimeter and being more aggresive knowing Noel is protecting the basket.

Saw on Niang's twitter that if they win today at 3, they play on ESPNU at 7 tonight. Another good chance to see some ballers.

Wow, dropped 30 on some pretty stiff competition. We got a straight stud in this one, and what encourages me the most is that Fred's eye for talent caught Georges before others. Our old coach had a knack for finding guys that could silently dominate the North Platte rec league, Coach Fred can spot elite talent before others.

Very nice to see. Georges only had 7 less points than the other team
