Next Year's (Tournament?) Team/Potential

I love you guys, but there is a lot of Kool-Aid in here. We could end up being a pretty salty team, but there are a ton of unknowns* in the back-court in a guards' game.

I almost think you have to reserve judgement until we see about Bolton or not, too.

*not Haliburton and probably not Nixon, but you need 4-5 good guards in college basketball, not the roughly two that we know we have... even Bolton does not seal the deal

I think most people are assuming Bolton in their predictions.

Unfortunately, we were only able to attend the first three CCL games, but during that time Bolton appeared to be the best basketball player on the floor. He looks like a great replacement for Lindell Wigginton, but I don’t know how we will be able to replace Marial Shayok.
Someone is going to have to step in the roles that were left for them. Even if we had a sought after 4 star freshman coming in that we were high on would have to mature and step into that role. Lucky for us we have two four star guards that have been waiting their turn / hopefully developing into the player we recruited them to become.

ISU potentially playing MSU game 2 in the MW region is peak Palm trolling of Cyclones fans.

Of the 3 slots 8 ISU could land in his bracket (can't be in the subregion w/ KU), that's probably as good as it'd get ... both MSU and UK placed in Cleveland, better than facing Duke in Greensboro. And that's a good 8/9 draw, better than Oregon and probably Syracuse. (Penn State at a 9 ... not seeing that).

Next years team has a wide range of outcomes. I wouldn’t bet on making the tourney myself but...

The front court should be cromulent. Conditt is exciting. Solo and Jake have both played big on tourney teams, and both can shoot it well.

Backcourt has two high IQ guys in Haliburton and Nixon, and I think Terrence Lewis is going to make the most of his lopportunity.

This post is cromulent.
Uhm, I just can't let this neologism go by so easily although still quite perplexing. Even after looking up I still do not have a cromulent definition and am unsure where to go next. :D

Ouch; and I'm a pessimist about this year's team - a bubble for now, until they can prove otherwise. Losing our top scorer and a couple guys going pro, doesn't leave a lot of scoring options. Some guys are just gonna need a step-change in production.
But it's hard to phantom we'd be below Okie St, even with the recruits they landed.

Article on Leech being accedemically cleared has some details on the incoming players after the Itally trip.
Leech - “He’s fine. He's healthy,” Prohm said

https://www.desmoinesregister.com/s...-continues-wait-word-rasir-bolton/2091018001/

Prohm said two other incoming freshmen impressed him — guards Tre Jackson and Caleb Grill.
“I like both those guys,” he said. “Caleb can really make shots, and he’s got good toughness. Tre can really, really shoot it with range. Both those guys can be in the rotation for sure.”

So will Penn State transfer Rasir Bolton, assuming the NCAA allows him to play immediately. The former Nittany Lions guard transferred after his freshman year, but is seeking a waiver to skip what is usually a mandatory sitting-out for one season.
“He’s good. He’s a good player,” Prohm said. “I’m glad he’s with us. He can play some (point guard), if we want to take Tyrese (Haliburton) off the ball. He can get you double-figures. He can create offense for you, rebound and defend.
“I’m excited about what he can do.”
