New Uniforms Revealed

Cheap is the word you're looking for
You can all disagree with this post, but it is the case

While the jersey is the new FUSE tailoring template, the fabric is definitely of a lesser quality - the seams look really bad

I'm not sure re: the pants tailoring, but again, the fabric is cheap

Also, the jersey is entirely screen printed

The stripes, of course, would have to be screened on, but the faux-stitched iron-on numbers would have looked higher-quality & also would have created a bit of pop & differentiation from the stripes - from afar & on television, especially two-digit numbers, will wash out - the front of the jersey will just look like a gray & white puddle...

A two-tone number would have helped too - maybe gold with a white outline or something like that (preferably not white with a black outline, b/c of the Ohio State jerseys... )

Those are sweet! That 'cardinal' (jersey) and 'gold' (pants) should be our regular colors.... so much better than what we use now.

With all that being said... these look nothing like what Jack Trice wore... but maybe they didn't care about that in the design of these?

Also... there must not be any legal issue with Adidas by using "I Will", huh?

Alright, one small update - a close up photo reveals the numbers are iron-on, BUT they don't appear to have the faux stitching around the edge

Maybe, maybe, this is a mock & the final on-field product will use the higher quality materials...

My big question is why we couldn't have the athletic gold, gray stripes & red numbers that Jack Trice actually wore? Especially when it appears this uniform was created to wear only once in the season

I am OK with the Trice uni. Have two comments.

1. The Trice emblem looks grey. Not a big fan of adding 4th color. White Trice emblem and gold lettering?

2. I love the gold pants, hard to see if there is a side striping. But the red (while darker) doesn't appear cardinal. Seems like we can never get both colors on the same uniform!

Life goes on!! I'll take an 8-4 season over the perfect uniform

You do realize that the original Jack Trice stripes ARE grey, right?

These may be demo uniforms. Game day version may have numbers not ironed on.

These will likely be worn for ONE game... that's it. No reason to spend a bunch on the quality of materials.

This is true - spare the expense for sure

But, if it's a one-off & you're doing it on the cheap, why not (athletic) gold jerseys?

We got the Paul Rhoads (Gene Chizik...) uniforms b/c we wanted to go back to cardinal & gold b/c we had strayed away from OUR colors - now it's as if we want to get as far away from any kind of "gold" at all
