New Show announcements....

Yeah, being unable to get out of the parking lot at a festival and missing your child's birth would probably NOT win you "husband of the year" status. ;)
Or showing up at the hospital reeking of beer, sweat, sunscreen and bug spray. Not a good look.

A couple new announcements too....
Band of Horses - Hoyt Sherman
Schoolboy Q - 7 Flags Event Center....

Wanted to bump this, after 80-35 the crew I was with decided to head over to Chicago for Riot Fest. Anyone been to that in that past? We are loving the Saturday lineup as the crew have very tight punk roots (Descendents, Social D, F'd Up, The Vandals, Hold Steady, MCS, The Hives, White Lung and Bob Mould).....

Enjoy the MCS show. I'm pretty sure it's their last show ever. One of my favorites.

Thank you! I'd gone and looked it up after you mentioned it. I'm going to try and make that one - I bet it would be a great show!

I looked at the rest of their lineup, and it's pretty amazing. I'd LOOOOVE to see Elvis Costello, or Amos Lee, or any of them!
I also got Sturgill Simpson tickets....

This is a bit off topic from the OP but I wasn't sure where else to post it, so I thought here was best option.

I went to see Børns last night at First Avenue Station, they had opening acts of Beau and Lewis Del Mar. I showed up a little late and only saw one song played by Beau which was all right.

I proceeded to be blown away by how solid of a show Lewis Del Mar put on. I knew about 3 of their songs coming into the show but found myself looking up every one of their songs after the show got out. Have an awesome sound and control the stage pretty well. If any of you are into Lewis Del Mar and want to/are on the fence about seeing them I would definitely recommend it. I could even hear people around me talking about how pleasantly surprised they were by the Lewis Del Mar performance.

And Børns was exactly like I expected him to be live. Has a really cool voice, did every one of their popular songs as well as some others from their earlier album. He mixed in talking to the crowd but it wasn't after every song and he was quick and to the point with his talks (talked about prince then played I Would Die 4 U, talked about Elton John and played Benny and the Jets) It was a really good show where he sounded like his songs, and he was exactly how I would expect him to act and perform. Another artist I would definitely recommend if/when he comes to Des Moines area, or wherever you are reading this:).

Did anyone make it to Band of Horses last night? Great show!
