New Dishwasher Recommendations

Resurrecting this thread as I'm in the market, and need a pulse check on owners' experiences to date. Specific model #'s would be helpful.

TIA
I just replaced my 7 year old GE Profile dishwasher (due to water damaged wood floor) with a Bosch. Multiple points of reference all pointed to Bosch as a recommendation for Bosch.

Key feature for me that Bosch offers is automated shutdown for moisture detected outside the DW tub and the unit is self contained.

We went with a Beko from Warner Stellian about a year ago and it has been great. I have a sibling that has spent most of his adult life overseas and told me it’s a big brand across Europe that’s just breaking into the US. It has absolutely no issue getting things clean. It was also the only washer in the price range with a stainless tub and it’s super quiet for the price.

This is the one we got.

I’m not sure when the feature was added.

I know it was on the one we bought about 5 or 6 years ago. I know this because I didn't have the water hose hooked up tight enough (plastic threads on the washer, metal threads on hose, great idea) and water got into the pan. After lots of cursing, calls to tech support, and finally Google, I figured out to drain the pan. Fired right up after I did that.

Everyone seems to love Bosch (from earlier in in thread and now with current updates), but my main reluctance with it is the drying performance with no heating element. Should I really have to fork out over $1k on an upgraded model just to expect a common basic feature - dry dishes (or at least the expectation of reasonably dry) at the end of a cycle???

For a product that claims a 5-6 year life expectancy???

Crazy talk

The drying does take some time to get use to.

The drying issue can be annoying, but simply cracking open the door for a bit before emptying solves the problem for me. I bought a 500 series 7 years ago and remember the guy telling me it should last 10+ years.

I have a Bocsh as well and they are awesome.

On a side note, if had a dishwasher that looked like JLH and if she didn't have an attitude, I would give it a try.

We have a Bosch at work, and it is fine, but check out the tines/rack layout. They are really tight and hard to load imho. Might just be that we have thicker dishes or something.

There are adjustable/collapsible tines on mine. I will add if all tines are in place, the place wear would have to be thin.

I've been through 1 GE and 2 whirlpools (and two flooring replacements) in 5 years with this house. Get the damn Bosch. Just use rinse aid and the drying is just as good if not better.

Point of slight clarification; there is no exposed heating element. Water still exceeds 160 degrees.

With no exposed heating element; plastic is able to be placed in bottom rack.

I heard that Bosch was bought out and the quality has suffered since then. This was from a sales person at home depot so can't speak first hand but I would be interested to know what people think of them that have purchased within the last 2 years.
