OK... if DG is knocking down a high percentage in practice I'm OK with continuing to let him try to get his shot working in games.

If not... why not let him do everything he does well and have him feed those players who have high percentage shots? If we could of had other players take the 20 or so shots DG jacked up only to miss... we may have had another 16-20 points scored.

DG opens up the offense, make or miss. If he was one dimensional the other team could create their defense around it.

DG is the leader and does more than stats show.

If he gets good looks, he's going to keep taking them. As he should. People talk as if he's shooting 15 percent from the field this year. He's had a couple tough shooting nights but he's also had some really good nights, too.

He needs to keep shooting, for now. I don't agree with him taking 20 shots but I've got no problem if he takes 12-14.

DG is more of a passer then a scorer IMO. Should just keep feeding it to SC until someone can stop him.

I thought you were done with ISU basketball until next year. The weather turned out to be a little fairer than you originally thought, I guess?

If he stops shooting we will have the DG of the McD era which brings along the he doesnt shoot so sag 10 feet off of him defense

If DG quits shooting, his defender is going to sink into the lane and he won't be driving anywhere.

And Clones21, could you please do us all a favor and just leave? Go post pics of your mom on some other board. You lower the collective IQ of this board drastically, and that's saying something. Or maybe you should go get a head start on crying about the next thing that upsets you with Iowa State.

What the **** is wrong with you people. Leave me alone about it already. You guys are the ones showing immaturity. I said some dumb things. I know that. My emotions were running high, so i said some things i shouldn't have. So stop.

He had one horrible game shooting... and he's still above 40% on the year through 10 games. This year I feel good when the ball is in his hands. I think he makes the pass when he sees an open guy very well. And up until last night... he's been knocking down shots very well.

Don't change it. If he hits those like he has in the past 9 games... we win this one by a nice margin.

Ban Hammer. Boom.

When everyone else is making fun of you, they aren't the problem.

There really is an easy solution to this, stop posting during the games. It's really not that hard.

He has proven he can shoot, that is what he has improved most on in the offseason. If teams back off him he will hit his shots and make them pay.

I can do that, but how about you guys just move on about it and stop attacking me over the web. You guys are big talkers on here.

and you're a loud mouth.

I mean this in the best way possible: You just need to take a step back from the keyboard sometimes. I few deep breaths, fewer overreactions. You'll get attacked a little less.

Sorry, I just watched the replay and I have to chime in here. I don't know how anyone can defend a 5-24 shooting performance. 4 of his 5 makes were layups including the one at the end of the game. He also made a floater from about 7 feet, but he missed about 10 other floaters from 5-10 feet. The interesting thing is that ISU rarely got the rebound on his misses. Iowa was packing it in and letting him shoot it from long distance... so I'm not sure I understand the argument that we need DG to hoist it up a lot or our offense will sputter. Seems to be the exact opposite to me. We are only efficient when DG gets all the way to the rim or he passes it to someone else. He's easily going to end up with the worst career 3 point percentage in ISU history. Now that Hoiberg has had 10 games to evaluate DG's shooting, I wouldn't be suprised if we see a different DG for the rest of the season. He should focus on shooting layups and buzzer beaters.

We won the game last night because SC was unbelievably hot, Iowa missed a lot of layups and Iowa turned the ball over a ton. With all that said, we need DG to play close to 40 minutes/game because he is the best PG we have. I just want to see him play like a PG and realize that he is not our best option for shooting the ball. I believe we would have been killed last night if we played a mediocre Big 12 team on the road. None of our Big 12 opponents respect DG's shooting and they would be absolutely giddy if he were to take 24 shots from floor.

DG is a very poor jump shooter, thats obvious but I don't think many of the 3's he took last night were bad decisions. He was wide open, he has to take some of those shots(just maybe not all of them). To me he is scariest when he drives, its a catch 22 with him because he is most effective as a scorer going to the hoop but thats also when he's the most reckless. When he gets in the lane if theres not a good look he usually shoots it anyway or throws a bad pass. I think he is very unsure of what to do and panics. The final 2 minutes of the UNI and Cal games showed he's not comfortable with the ball in his hands in crunch time. I won't say he lost us those games but he definitely prevented us from winning them.

On a positive note, he played much smarter in the second half last night. He still made some mistakes but they were in the flow of the game which is fine. We need that DG the rest of the season.

StLousClone: Who gives a **** what his career 3 point percentage is? I care about now. I don't care about the 22% he shot as a freshman/sophomore. I care about the 35% he's shooting now.

Should Jake Anderson never shoot because he shot an abysmal percentage last year?

DG has actually been a very solid jump shooter this year. I don't see anyone bagging Anderson's jump shooting and its right there with DG's.

This would work if you had other players open. From what I see, this is not the case. They would then have to force a shot. We ran only couple of plays when Hawks left someone open. They were on us like glue most of the game.

Everyone is shooting over 40% except for three reserves.

DG maybe should take more 10 foot shots.
