New Casey's Logo

Could have really given employees a nice bonus instead of spending all the money this will take.

It's weird how they decided to ditch the color yellow and the branding of "General store". Is Casey's no longer a general store?

They redefined “General Store” long ago and essentially “owned” the term.

They could have just tweaked their current logo to look a little sharper if they did anything at all. Maybe change the font type and clean up some of the blocky pixilation of the graphics but kept the same kind of look and colors to it. I guess this is just 1 logo that is recognizable and kind of iconic in this area that you could have kept it the same for many years to come and no one would of cared. Now they just added an unnecessary re-branding expense that isn't going to generate them any new money in the long haul because it's not like people shop there because of the logo or buy things with their logo that are going to now want to update their apparel like sports teams do when they update a logo.

I have a decent amount of stock in Casey's, yet they didn't even contact me for my opinion. What's up with that?

Meh, the new Caseys logo is just that, a logo. Are you going to stop getting their pizza because of it? I doubt it.

As far as I'm concerned, the older Caseys need to be replaced with their newer design. The north Ankeny KwikStar makes the Caseys at 36th and Ankeny Blvd look very dated and the Caseys on S Ankeny Blvd a dinosaur.

On the picture it looks bland but whatever. The picture I saw with it on the front of an actual store made it look like a run-down, mom and pop gas station in West Virginia.

Brands are valuable for many reasons, but one of the most valuable assets is the brand recognition. I don't know how they did anything but diminish that with going with a generic font logo.

They went from Petticoat Junction to 3rd grade art class using MS Paint. Considering the older motif makes any rural Iowa town look like a slum, I don't blame them for attempting something a little more snappy. That attempt seems to fall a bit short.

Agree. And while it's easy to blame the design house who did the work, I'm guessing they pitched no less than three options, with the ultimate decision made by the Casey's bigwigs. Who knows what the other options looked like. It's not uncommon that the "throwaway" design concept is the one that gets picked.
