Lol, people are seriously saying Spoelstra > Karl because Spoelstra has one ring (the most overhyped accomplishment in the NBA)??? Wow, we must have a lot of football fans in the thread.

I said all along they were in the same tier as far as coaches go, but there's no denying Spoelstra has accomplished more than Karl.

And what exactly has Karl done to be ranked ahead of Spoelstra? He's only made it out of the first round once in the last 10 years.

You think Mac Brown and Gene Chiz are clearly better coaches than Bill Snyder. That's how silly you're being. Just stop for your own good.

Again, no one has presented a reason why Karl should be definitively ahead of Spoelstra. Make an actual argument for him.

Actually, Cash did. Spoelstra has accomplished more than Karl, hahahahahaha.

They have but you don't want to hear. Tell me how Chiz is a better coach than Bill Snyder...since you think he has accomplished more.

George Karl has been a head coach for 25 years, he's made it to one NBA finals, 3 additional conference finals, and has either not the playoffs or hasn't got past the first round in 16 of those seasons.

These are the coaches who have won championships in the last 25 years: Pat Riley, Chuck Daly, Phil Jackson, Rudy Tomjanovich, Greg Popovich, Larry Brown, Doc Rivers, Rick Carlisle, Erik Spoelstra. It takes obviously takes talent to win a title, but that's some pretty solid company for Spoelstra.

Chiz > Bill Snyder

LMAO

That he's won more games? That's all he had and Spoelstra has a much higher winning percentage so that's a pretty weak argument.

I'd think you were trolling if I didn't already know you're a Heat fan who is embarrassed to be a Heat fan for some odd reason.

My grandma could coach the Heat to a title. Spoelstra SHOULD have another under his belt if he weren't a choke artist.

How about the part where I mentioned that Spoelstra led Miami to 47 wins, and the 5th best defense in the league, with a front line of Beasley, Richardson and Jermaine O'Neal? Did you skip right over that part?

Wow, he led a mediocre team to mediocrity. I'm pretty impressed.

So District would you agree that this also applies to the vast majority of Karl's coaching career?

2011 Heat talent > 1994 Sonics talent and it's not even close.

So is Spoelstrs > Karl? Yes or no?

I've said all along I would have them on the same tier behind Pop and Carlisle. Don't get what's so outrageous about this statement. Spoelstra has accomplished more though. If I had to pick one coach going forward, I would take Spoelstra.

Oh and winning the Eastern Conference and losing in the Finals >>>>>>> Losing to a 42-40 Nuggets team in the first round

I'm sure even you would agree with that.

Worst debate: Spoelstra > Karl or the RPI is overrated and is barely used. Tough call. Ask hawkeye fans

Gene Chizik
Urban Meyer
Les Miles
Mack Brown
Pete Carroll

One of those guys doesn't belong. Can you guess? Your argument is invalid.
