If that were the case I don't think they'd have been required to kick the PAT. Just my thought, I don't know for sure.
This was not a reviewable play. The booth officials cannot determine possession. Only if the ball was caught in bounds.

good point. Goodell can't just wave a wand and make the regular refs come back. He doesn't have that kind of power. If people want to be mad, be mad at the owners.

The Packers are my "Iowa Hawkeyes" of the NFL so I always enjoy seeing them lose, that one was a little disheartening as a general fan of the game though. (Also sorry if someone has posted this gif already, My friend showed it to me on facebook and I had to share haha)
As much as I despise the Hawkeyes, I wouldn't even want them to get robbed as bad the Packers did last night. (Just imagine the months of whining that would result.)

They are brand new out of the box and given to kickers shortly before the game and used only for kicking.

That being said, conventional wisdom (and what the players are coached to do) says knock that ball down/out of bounds/etc. precisely for this very reason. He allowed the receiver to make a play on the ball and allowed the ref's judgment call to be taken into account. Of course, batting the ball down can backfire as it did in the Lions-Titans game. But intercepting the ball backfired here, didn't it?
As far as the missed pass interference, the commentators were mentioning that offensive PI never gets called in that situation, and I've never seen defensive PI get called there, either. Therefore, as blatant as that PI was, it's a non-issue with me.

Most offensive thing about Tate's push off was saying that he "plays for God," and then claiming he had no idea what the sideline reporter was saying when she asked about his push-off. If you're going to play the "God" card, don't turn around and immediately lie.
This......although I am not so sure the Packers got screwed on the call.......that will be debated for decades. As far as the interference call goes either way, I don't reacll ever seeing interference called on a Hail Mary pass in the end zone. It may have been one time or another, but I don't remember it.
I think the Packers db's screwed up as much as anyone. There was no need to attempt an interception there. None at all. DB's are taught to bat the ball down to the ground, or bat it away so no one can catch it, or if the offensive player gets his hands on it first, make sure he does not make it to the ground with it. The Packer's db's did none of those. There was no reason to try and make an interception of that pass. Knock it away.
Im not going to hold him to that. He may not have realized that he pushed off. Shields looked like he was overacting a little.
