Missing Student -- ISU ALERT

Doubtful that they would borrow an actual CyRide.

It wasn't painted blue and white was it? Because the PD has an old CyRide that they use as a mobile command post.
 
Yes, according to the school website it says that they would be searching the area today.
Dive teams will search waterways, including Lake LaVerne on the Iowa State campus, to eliminate those areas as possible locations.

yeah there is no way that it's just firefighter training... does channel 5, 8, and 13 usually come to watch firefighter training? and do they block off the road north of laverne with cops and police tape?

Hmmm. I might be able to find out more at work later today about this. I guess we do sometimes loan out mini buses to PD during VEISHEA and special events.

Wouldn't surprise me. Right after all the Columbine HS stuff happened I was at AHS and we went through tons of bomb threats in a row. Cy-Ride was always nice enough to send a fleet of buses to keep us warm as we couldn't just leave the campus and yet it was still the dead of winter.
 
Also to ISU students, there have been recent rumors about an attacker(s) around the MU as of late, so if you know girls who are walking home watch out for them.

Just went by the lake and its not a drill. The Cy ride is in fact being used to warm up in. Looks like a few locations are being searched, but mainly the outlet south of the lake. Security is tight in and out of the area.
 
It's certainly creepy. All of us have left the bar or a friends place by ourselves and made a walk down Stanton or Welch.
 
He could have been walking on LaVerne by himself that night and fell in by ice cracking, or in by one of the aerators

I don't think anyone - male or female - should be walking alone. Remember the buddy system from camp - use it again.
 
iastate.edu is doing a good job with updates on the search.



I think they probably searched LaVerne right away today because they didn't want to wait and do it during the school week.
 
No guarantee he disappeared the last night he was actually seen. Hope they have taken that into account

I went to High School with the kid and it wouldn't surprise me. He kind of had that personality. I just hope they find him. Good kid & family. Hate to see something happen to him.:sad:
