Missing first few days of grade school.

Your just jealous you can't go.

You should make sure not to skip the first day of Freshman English this year man

Is she a good student, then its ok, if not then don't do it. And tell her not to brag to the other kids how she missed school in the Dells.

Going with family who have already made arrangements and suggested we go. My youngest's school starts particularly early for some reason.

To repeat...a song is a term to mean cheap, very little money, etc...

We can stay for $68/night which includes the room and pass to all the parks.

Just checking. You're essentially telling your kids that saving a few bucks is more important than school, is all.

Of course, some people are saying that school doesn't matter at all, so who's to know the difference?

Not my decision, just how it struck me. I can't judge another's opportunity.

As a teach I say no way. The first couple of days and weeks set the norms and get the students into a routine that they need to be familiar with to succeed.

Agreed...content-wise she probably won't miss much, but she'll be behind in what is expected of the students and it is tough to go back through all of that thoroughly with just one student. As far as seeing if she can make stuff up from being gone, that is much more difficult on the first couple of days of school because there likely won't be assignments but verbal instructions and walk-throughs on procedures and routines.
