Might as well keep these posts going…that was a HUGE win!

Their crowd was never in it. Ever.
I wonder if some of that is playing a new team. Guessing most of the BigXII teams going in there will feel like out of conference teams. Once teams and their fans start to get familiar with each other over the next couple years I'll be these new commers have a better home environment.

As far as a literal matchup, I’ll take a good team today vs about any team from a quarter of a century ago. The average skill, size and athleticism of guys is significantly better.

But relative to CBB at its time the 99-00 would’ve been favored in the FF and NCG had they gotten past a road game against MSU.

This team can get close though. It’s that good.

I wouldn’t put the best Fred team there quite even if Niang doesn't break his foot. After UConn they prob would’ve been underdogs the rest of the way even with healthy Niang.
Plus the 3 point line being extended out. Milan and Jones would be shooting bunnies in 99-00. I'm not taking one team over the other. This year's team has a lot to prove. Winning the regular, conference tourney, and an elite 8 run is a tough act to follow. If they do comparable there should be some conversation as to which team was the best, but right now 99-00 is tops on that list I agree.

And this is the best single season conference ISU has ever been in. It's a monster.

I think for those of us old enough, it's pretty awesome to think we've gotten to see successful teams under so many different coaches. That's not the norm at most programs. It's a testament to the strength of this program and it's structure. Great fan support is very important and has been the one constant.

I'm a true believer in this team. They can beat anybody. Doesn't mean they make it out of the first weekend of the tournament, because strange crap happens in March Madness. But this team is damn good. The players are really good and play their asses off. We've got an elite coach and staff. I wouldn't take any coach in the country over TJ. While Green rightly gets huge props, Blount is an absolute up and coming star in the college coaching ranks.

I really think it was just a matter of ISU jumping out early, and suppressing the couple early runs Cincy put together. They have a good environment typically. ISU just crushed them.

I do think the team and probably crowd was a bit down after feeling like they let one slip away vs. Houston. Once ISU got up about 8 or so late in the first half I think both were done.
