Michigan State vs. Iowa

As a lifelong fan of a team that has taught me much about the vast amounts of varying forms of excruciating pain of losing, I have come to learn one important thing about losing, and that thing is this: Losing stinks and it feels rotten. And I am honestly bummed the Hawks lost. But this team is tough and they will bounce back and make the most of the next game. I believe they will finish strong and have a good chance of ending the seadon with a win. I do hope the Hawks get a high pre-season ranking in August--it will make it that much more satisfying to watch the Cyclones beat them in their house next year.
I totally agree. Toughest part is that now Iowa is a basketball school and Coach Fran has a deeper tourney than 17 year coach. Heart Breaking as another Not in Tourney plagues Kirk. Fran has real tournament/playoff experience. Time to admit that Fran is best coach based upon results.

Is that supposed to be a burn?

I guess that I have to give you credit for coming back into this thread. Whining about our cheering your loss seems like an odd thing to be doing right now. Shouldn't you be making your arrangements for the Rose Bowl?

That was a fun game. Still can't believe OSU lost to Mich St without Cook, that alone should be grounds for Herman winning NCOY.

I knew I shouldn't have looked in on this thread....as usual...whole lot of stupid.
What is so stupid? This is an in-state rivals thread where most of us Cyclone fans HATE the Hoks. Many of us are relieved that you guys lost because your SOS was so pathetic compared to a lot of other teams vying for a CFP spot. You avoided playing MSU, tOSU and Mich during the regular season & finally you lost! Congrats on beating all the other teams you played, but I, for one, am glad to see the loss - just like many of my Hok co-workers & neighbors loved seeing ISU lose in the 2000 Elite 8 to MSU in basketball & when Niang went down in 2014 & we lost to UCONN (Sweet 16).

I know, unlike all of you fine people, I am a weird weirdo who is weird. But I do not understand this whole wanting the rival to fail in all things all the time. I want the hawks to win every single game EXCEPT when they play the Cyclones. The better the hawks do, the better the Cyclones look for playing them. I don't know. I just don't want a lame-o loser rival, I want a rival that is a formidable nemesis.

Wait, did I read a few posts back about how the refs screwed Iowa because someone slightly moved before the snap of the last play? And that they should get an apology letter for that? Do they give apology letters for something as minor as a missed false start?

You clearly don't understand how competing for fan support works.

Looks like either Ohio State or Iowa to Rose. Will be interesting to see how that goes. Take the brand name Ohio State for TV ratings and hype? Or take Iowa, who will probably bring a boat load of fans since it's been awhile since they've been there.

Or, maybe they will strictly go by the rankings. Does Ohio State jump Iowa in the rankings?

I'm thinking OSU. Hard to not pick Urban Meyer there.

And yet here you are. But I get it. You're angry and sad and lashing out. Let it all out, man. We have thick skin and we can take it.

In all seriousness, that was a gut punch of a loss. Great season nonetheless, and I hope Pasadena is in the cards for the Hawks.
