He hire Doyle as his S&C coach. I’m sure recruiting will be just fine with that pair.Jon Gruden? the guy the Raiders fired for being racist?
Not for like their administration no.. I just mean strictly from a football standpoint. Growing up in NE Iowa, when I wasn't in Ames, Iowa State wasn't on much because not everyone was. And I wasn't going to watch Dry Puke and Iowa. Always loathed Notre Dame.I would hope you dont have any left for them after all the other BS theyve pulled
True but I don't see them going after an assistant. I don't want CMC to leave and I don't want Leipold to leave Kansas State or Klieman to leave K-State etc because I think they are both good for the future of the conference.Phil Parker was an all-BIG10 DB at MSU.
Here’s my deal, except for the money, why would either take the job?Yep, they could get Leipold for a fraction of that cost. Or Klieman, take your pick.
Michigan State's played in the college football playoff. Got murdered, but played. Here’s my deal, except for the money, why would either take the job?
I don't buy it, football coaches, out of any profession, stick it out and stay longer than they should usually.I listened to the Williams and Miller podcast & Miller said he was told by a source that is close to the KSU coaching staff that Klieman is NOT in the coaching profession for the long haul & 2030 (when his current contract is done) could be his last year. That said, I would be all in favor of Klieman leaving K-State earlier than 2030!
You brought up Liepold. NW still had an interim, Indiana could make a change, MSU is open, Michigan could open.Michigan State's played in the college football playoff. Got murdered, but played.
Slightly easier to recruit.
Once Izzo leaves / retires, you could dominate that university if you have success.
With the playoff expansion coming and expanded Big 10, if you probably have a extra play or two to the playoffs depending on how large expansion eventually becomes.
Klieman has already come out and said he has no interest in that job.
Klieman told Sirius XM's "Big 12 Today" that he will "be sticking in Manhattan [Kansas] and will not be a candidate for that job." His name had surfaced as a potential candidate after he led Kansas State to a Big 12 championship in 2022.
Leipold is a Big 10 guy albeit Wisconsin.
Campbell grew up in Ohio.
While Iowa and Kansas are not on the other side of the moon, they could make the close about it being closer to home
Try but I hope not. I think for the future of the Big 12, while it may result in an extra loss or two every so often keeping Leipold and Klieman in conference is big.You brought up Liepold. NW still had an interim, Indiana could make a change, MSU is open, Michigan could open.
Lots of opportunities.

But realistically anyone associated with the search at Michigan State needs to be fired if any of those 3 individuals aren't called and asked about potential interest
Other than that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln? Here’s my deal, except for the money, why would either take the job?
Phil Parker was an all-BIG10 DB at MSU.
Well, it sounds like crotch grabbing is part of the gig so maybe Phil is practicing for a MSU interview with his Lil Sparty. He is 60 YO so if he ever wanted to be a head coach this is probably the time.
I've heard that Campbell's wife is fairly involved with her kids school. That is usually a good sign of wanting to stick around for a while.Klieman could've left his previous job earlier than the KSU opening. I know we see too many coaches chase dollars but we've seen several now that know they have a good thing and chasing dollars will screw that up. By the end of his contract Klieman will have made $40+ million. $40 million! He could leave for MSU, end that contract early and be fired from MSU in three years.
This is why we've also seen Campbell stay. Campbell is 42 and by the time his current contract will have ended he will have made $30+ million off of coaching already. His family is set. His family's family is set. If Campbell becomes our Fry/Ferentz where he stays 20+ years...in this age of college football... he'll have made closer to $100M than not. Or go chase a single big contract, hire several new staffers, get fired in 3 years, start over as an OC/position coach? Yeesh, no thanks.
Again except for the money, why does he want the job? Who wants to get their head kicked in by OSU PSU and UM every week? You brought up Liepold. NW still had an interim, Indiana could make a change, MSU is open, Michigan could open.
Lots of opportunities.
And now add in Oregon, Washington, USC.......the mid to low level Big 10 jobs are simply going to be money grabs in perpetuity.Again except for the money, why does he want the job? Who wants to get their head kicked in by OSU PSU and UM every week?
