Last year's team was pretty good without a true outside threat starting.
Does mckay continue to start?
I'm still on the 8 man rotation and would like EdoZie to occasionally get thrown in. Come tourney time, overcoming injuries and foul trouble is huge. We were a 7 man rotation last year and when Georges went down, our final 4 run was over
OU has five guys who all play about 30 minutes a game. Two are 6'4'' shooters/scorers (Hield, Cousins), two are banging forwards, 6'8'' 230+ (Thomas, Spangler), and the fifth is a 6'0'' point guard (Woodard).
The problem with starting McKay and having McKay, Niang, and Hogue all on the floor at the same time is that Hogue will have to guard Cousins. I think we match up better with our "usual" five on the floor, and then Morris, Long, and BDJ can guard the three guards, and Niang and Hogue the forwards.
The alternative that might make sense is to start McKay over Hogue instead.
If I am Freddy, I'm sitting his *** on the bench a few more games and not starting him after I just bailed his *** out just four short weeks ago. For some reason, BDJ doesn't understand zero tolerance policies after the coaches have had to put up with his crap for so long. This shouldn't be something that has to be dealt with at this point in the season when we need to be playing our best ball heading into March.
I like the McKay start on Monday and beyond. Besides Naz & Georges, I think he's the other leader on that team no matter if he's on the bench or floor. He's a complete team player and leader. That can only help help us more in February and March.
This. He has been to three schools and gotten away with pretty much everything, and at the end of the day he is still playing D-1 basketball with nothing more than a slap on the wrist (if that).
Just because our previous transfers understood this is their last stop doesn't mean they all will.
HE WAS LATE. No one cares. Least of all Fred.
Your moral laxity just weakened a country today.
It starts with tardiness and ends in mass murder.
This has to be a quote. Damn sharp, if not.Your moral laxity just weakened a country today.
It starts with tardiness and ends in mass murder.
We generally start games shooting pretty poorly from outside, especially on the road. I would love to see McKay start against OU on Monday night and see if we can't get the inside game going before we start shooting the 3 ball.
Everyone plays the same amount of minutes regardless of who starts. OU doesn't care who Fred starts.I kind of hope the starting 5 isn't revealed until around game time at OU so OU can't scout accordingly...if that' even legal.
I also like McKay starting; I think it's a defensive strength though.
If you don't understand basketball well enough to understand, it's not going to help for me to explain. He is great at basketball, but he fits in better w an offense ran more like say......... Unlv.
Also, I knew you would cry yourself to sleep tonight upon hearing this news
