Fred Hoiberg said Bryce Dejean-Jones was late coming to the game today. That’s the reason for the switch.
No way BDJ should start after this game. Compare the energy McKay brings to the start compared to BDJ's 0-9 start vs KU on Monday. Maybe we don't lose at Tech if McKay at starts there and we start faster.
I don't think it's a question of McKay or BDJ but BDJ or Naz. It was only Tech but so far BDJ and Naz both look fine with their rolls, they still played about the same amount of meaningful minutes it seemed.
Well McKay should start, bottom-line. And I doubt Fred sits Naz at the start because he is our best outside threat.
Going to be a tough call. BDJ is our leading rebounder and number 2 in points per game.
Him coming off the bench with Nader and Thomas could prove beneficial. I'm intrigued to see if we roll out the same starting lineup Monday.
This move is entirely about overcoming our slow starts. We need McKay's length on the floor at the beginning of games. I doubt the minute distribution changes a whole lot overall.
If I am Freddy, I'm sitting his *** on the bench a few more games and not starting him after I just bailed his *** out just four short weeks ago. For some reason, BDJ doesn't understand zero tolerance policies after the coaches have had to put up with his crap for so long. This shouldn't be something that has to be dealt with at this point in the season when we need to be playing our best ball heading into March.
I like the McKay start on Monday and beyond. Besides Naz & Georges, I think he's the other leader on that team no matter if he's on the bench or floor. He's a complete team player and leader. That can only help help us more in February and March.

This. He has been to three schools and gotten away with pretty much everything, and at the end of the day he is still playing D-1 basketball with nothing more than a slap on the wrist (if that).
Just because our previous transfers understood this is their last stop doesn't mean they all will.
