Matt Thomas predictions

I'll just say this. I can't wait to watch you guys eat crow in two years when Matt is All-Big 12 first team. He'll get there. Just be patient.

Look, nobody on here wants Matt to do anything but succeed but with that being said, this is easily one of the most ridiculous posts I've ever seen on this board.

His offensive rating per 100 possessions is five points better than Nader. Nader also shoots a lower percent on threes, Nader turns the ball over more, and Nader assists less. If we're going to hate on Matt so often, why not talk about Nader as well? Why is Matt the whipping boy?
What does this mean? Because Nader has a higher ppg. I'm guessing Nader also has a higher eFG%. I know Nader is a better defender, a much better rebounder and shot-blocker.

Even if he shoots 45% from the 3, he is not going to be All Big 12 first team. That's just not the type of player that makes Big 12 first team.

Since 2010, only 1 white guy has been All-Big 12 first team. Jeff Withey who was 7 ft.

I'm rooting for MT but this post did make me laugh.

I hope it's a sophomore slump type deal for Thomas.

I won't be one bit surprised if he goes on to have a great two seasons as an upperclassman.

I also won't be surprised if he fades to an easy to forget Cyclone player.

It's my hope for a good upperclassman campaign.

Why do threads like this happen? What is the point? We are talking about a 20 year old kid busting his tail to be the best he can for OUR team. So what if he is not an all star yet? He is not losing games for us by missing 15 shots a game or turning the ball over. Why even bring it up? Just enjoy the success the team is having and enjoy watching each player get better. Threads like this make fans look silly and make ISU look like a bad place to send your child to play ball because the fans will turn on them if they are not super heros by their tenth game. The amount of angst towards a genuinely great person trying his best is saddening to me.

So you're saying Matt won't make first team All-Big 12 because he's white? Got it.

This X1000. Something is happening to this fanbase and it isn't good. I'm sad with you.

You would've said the same thing about Melvin Ejim during his sophomore year. Players improve as their careers progress. Look at Frank Kaminsky. I'm not saying Matt is going to be the best player in the country like Kaminsky, but I don't think I've ever seen someone this close to being a great player before. His shot looks great, he just thinks too much. He has the physical tools to make the NBA. He just needs to put it together, and next year will be a great opportunity, even with Cooke on the team.

My turn, Matt will graduate from a prestigious university and be a credit to his chosen profession.

Is this Matt's mom?

Are you saying he doesn't have the tools to make the NBA? Before the Georgia State game, a scout told Chris Williams that Matt had a shot at the NBA. He's a 6'4 guard with a nice jumper and he's fairly quick. He's obviously not even close to being NBA ready right now. He has the physical tools to give himself a chance, though.

CW has told the story that, at the GSU game, scouts listed off guys on ISU that might get a look...

-Niang looked like a "maybe but probably Europe
-BDJ looked "definitely Europe"
-we might keep an eye on Thomas the next two years

Thomas had his rating for a reason. He's got the body and the talent. Let's hope he puts it together.

He must be killing it in practice for Fred and the team to stick with him like this.

You barely even see the net move in most of those.
