As Matt Thomas has obviously been in a recent slump that he hasn't been able to quite break through, I just wanted to see what you guys are thinking will end up happening the rest of the season and into next year as an offensive weapon.

It's been so frustrating to see such a solid player struggle mentally because he has incredible form and awesome potential, just needs to translate that to performance in a game.

Thomas should be put into all remaining games with under a min. left to hit his last sec. 3 point shot before half time!

I think it's a slump that he has to play through. And unfortunately he's not going to get enough time this year to do that. He will still play some minutes and hopefully hit shots when he stops overthinking them.

I think he'll get more work in the offseason and hopefully let it come to him naturally. I think he has the talent to be a great shooter for us. As he gets more PT next season I think he will get a good rhythm going.

The thing about those shots is that he didn't have time to overthink them. He just gripped and ripped. I think he'll get past the mental block eventually. He just needs more PT than he will get the rest of this year.

All I know is I'm glad he hit that shot before halftime Saturday. I can't imagine how badly he would have been crucified on here if it didn't go in.

I just feel he has at least one HUGE shot in him this season...one that will be celebrated as being a big-time shot! Similar to Naz last year against OSU.

I think he'll have a couple game like WVU when playing in Hilton and some games on the road where he doesn't do much at all. Hopefully he plays defense the rest of the year like he did on Saturday.

I don't see him being in the game for an opportunity like that

He play was good on Sat. I think he was .500 from the field and made good decisions. He is slowly getting through his issues.

It's definitely a process with him and there is no one better in the game to help him through this than Holberg but as soon as he can go play confidently without thinking so much and get back to that dominance he had in high school basketball he could be something special shooting the basketball

I was telling a buddy at the game that I think Thomas wins a game for us sometime yet this season. Maybe not a buzzer beater but just some clutch shots late

I root for him to turn things around and prove people wrong more than any other player in recent memory.

He's just a sophomore, so I'm guessing there are still games that he will help us win. Fred likes him, his teammates like him, and they all have faith in his shooting ability. That's all I need to know.

He really seems like the type of player that is capable of hitting everything he shoots. And despite his recent struggles, I'm still genuinely surprised when he misses. He has a great looking shot.

I think he definitely needs to bust out of his slump this year to secure playing time next year. With Cooke being cold blooded from 3 he will receive a good amount of PT along with Naz so Matt needs to really carve out a spot for himself this year otherwise he might be left on the bench.

I think he needs to focus on being a good guard first and foremost, and make the shooting a secondary issue. He's not Naz, but he doesn't have to shoot like Naz to be an effective player. He's a good rebounder, good ball-handler, and can score at the rim and in the mid-range.

Right now, I'd be surprised if he ever shot over 40% from 3 in a season, but if he can just work on those strengths and improve steadily defensively, he can be a damn good guard.

I've never seen a player have more misses that hit two or three sides of the rim than him. It's not like he needs major work to break out.
