DLR hands down. Steve Perry had a much more popular and profitable solo career, the actual music notwithstanding.

If DLR had stayed with VH they could have become one the top top biggest bands ever imo. Don’t get me wrong VH is still huge but they aren’t Stones, Floyd, Skynrd, Metallica huge.

Dave's schtick wasn't built to last beyond the 80s. Sammy kept Van Halen relevant all the way up until the movie Twister.

Okay maybe they’re not terrible but what I meant is if you like that type of music, my opinion is The Eagles, Tom Petty, Huey Lewis, Reo Speedwagon, The Police, etc all did it better than The Cars.
