Simply a great movie, among the MCU's best (First Avengers, Winter Soldier, GotG).

My preconceptions going into this was that the plot would pretty much follow the general guideline of two good guys fighting each other, halfway through realize who the REAL enemy was all along, cue team up to save the day. Thankfully, the actual plot was a lot meatier than this. The film reaches such an emotional apex that it becomes really tough to "pick a side" anymore.

TBH this movie almost redeems Age of Ultron in a way because AoU was really just the lead up to what was essentially Avengers 2: Part 2.

There were a few scenes where I thought, "Ok. THIS would have looked pretty cool in 3D."

I usually avoid films that weren't filmed with 3D in mind. The Doctor Strange trailer would have looked cool though.
Dr Strange Trailer looked really cool, especially with the Inception style buildings folding over themselves thing. Xmen had a really cool trailer and I am starting to get more geared up for it. There was a much longer Independence Day trailer in the standard format that my theater did not show in 3D. As far as 3d goes, I can do it in a normal theater but not in the real IMAX theaters. Just gives me a headache there.

Trigger, I am fortunate enough to have a Marcus theater near me so I can just reserve a seat whenever I want. Looks like the closest to you are 2 in Cedar Falls/Waterloo and 2 in IC/Coralville so I don't know if they would be worth driving to but man are the lazy boy style seats nice.

Oh yeah, Ant-Man was fun too, as well as the mid-credits and post-credits scenes. Between Ant-Man and Spider-Man, laughs were not hard to come by, and this movie had probably a few of the funniest moments in the MCU yet.

There were two?
I must have bolted too soon, only saw one.

I thought it was really good but these movies are all the same. Bad stuff happens, fighting happens, no big character dies, next movie. I get that they are kind of following the comics but I'm gonna hit my saturation point by the time 2020 hits and there are like 25 movies between now and then that are comic themed.

I feel like this one was a lot different than every other comic book movie. But to each their own. Hard to kill off superheroes especially the big ones when that is what people are coming to see

I haven't read the whole thread or searched the "Google" but why was this titled Captain America.

Just from the previews it seemed to be more of an Avengers movie.

But I thought it was a very good movie.

The Avengers are heavily involved (obviously), but the main storyline was still focused on Cap and Bucky. TONS of great character development for all the players, though. And I thought they actually did a very nice job juggling everybody. The roster keeps growing, and it can definitely be hard to have a cohesive story and still give everybody their due. Definitely like what Black Panther and Spiderman brought.

Just finished season two of Daredevil. What a great series this is. Top it off with the punisher stealing the show. What a fantastic casting for Frank Cassel. No wonder the guy is getting his own series. That actor is so intense, really nails the rage and this show pulled no punches with it. I can't wait for season 3. I do hope Jessica Jones crosses over more now that Foggy will be working with Hoegart.

I will say I am very much looking forward to the Black Panther stand alone movie. Chadwick is perfect for that role and the fact they have Ryan Coogler directing? Slam dunk choice. Gonna be awesome.

Is anyone else getting a small dose of superhero fatigue? I thought it was a great movie but find that I am losing my passion for the genre. Maybe I am alone on that.

I could be on board but there would have to be at least another character people are familiar with in it too. I never read Black Panther so his whole story is a mystery to me and I am betting that is the case for most fans.
