Malou staying in NBA Draft

Acuially I wonder how you guys can assume a person who has never played quality competition will be worth a damn in the big 12.

With that kind of rationale, we should never recruit another high school or JUCO player again and just go exclusively after transfers from other Power 5 conferences to fill out our roster.

You're right, impeccable logic there that is very hard to argue against.

The two grad transfers we have will contribute 10x more than Malou ever would have. They play defense and have some toughness.

Um....you do realize that if Malou had remained committed to ISU that all three of them would have been playing together, right? It's not a mutually exclusive either/or situation here.

i would take a PROVEN transfer 100x out of 100 over any HS or JUCO recruit. That is a no brainier. You take the known vs the unknown every single time.

So if you have 5 scholarships to give you'd advocate taking 5 transfers? That's what you said and the fact that it's dumb surprises nobody.

By that logic we never would have gotten Georges Niang or Monte Morris or........

That's what I'm talking about. Lets have 9 or 10 new guys every year and hope we can find quality at all 5 spots. Who needs the stability of the Morris, Hoiberg, Niang, Hornacek, Grayer, Sullivan, Fizer, etc. ****, thats such a good idea, pretty soon Kansas & Kentucky will be passing on the Micky D's HSAA.

It's never a problem to find players from year to year. This isn't the 1980s. Balancing the classes isn't a necessity anymore. You guys sound like Hawk fans with that logic. Fred said in his presser "you can always find players". My argument is it is always better to take a proven player vs an unproven one if given the choice. Malou is the definition of an unproven player. Hell, I'm not even sure the kid exists, but I can see why he is the next Kevin Garnett to many of you. I mean he really looks good playing against a bunch of nobodies on video so sign me up!

I don;t disagree with your larger point, but what do you think it looks like when inferior talent is playing superior talent? Pretty much Malou's videos. Now he isn't against people as good as him, but we don't have a single player on the team that can crossover drive the lane, and one handed tomahawk it besides maybe Burton. I'd have taken him in a minute.
